Job Description Be part of building Honda's next chapter in the Nordic marine market. How do you create the optimal combination of boat, engine, rigging and performance, and how do you transform the technical solution into a long-term partnership between Honda and a boat builder? Honda Marine is in the midst of a comprehensive European expansion with new products, a growing organization, and a clear focus on strengthening collaboration with boat builders. Now Honda is seeking a Boat Builder & Application Engineer Lead who will play a central role in the continued development. This is an unusual combination of marine engineering, application, relationship building and business development. You will work closely with Swedish and European boat builders and become the link between their products and Honda's marine solutions. As Boat Builder & Application Engineer Lead, you are responsible for developing Honda's relationships and technical collaboration with selected boat builders. The focus is primarily on larger outboard applications where the right combination of engine, boat, rigging, steering and electronics is critical to the final result. You will work with both existing partnerships and identifying new opportunities where Honda can become a greater part of boat builders' future offerings. The role is also international. Honda Marine works at the European level with strategic Boat Builder Alliances, which means you collaborate with colleagues and partners in other markets. This could include, for example, helping a Nordic boat builder establish itself through Honda's dealer network in other European markets or introducing a European partner to the Nordic market. In this role, you will, among other things: • Build and develop long-term relationships with Swedish and European boat builders. • Identify new Boat Builder partnerships and opportunities to increase Honda's presence, particularly in larger outboard applications. • Provide technical support regarding engine selection, rigging, installation, boat/engine configuration and product application. • Coordinate rigging tests, performance tests and evaluations together with boat builders and dealers. • Work with modern systems such as electronic steering, digital instruments and drive-by-wire solutions. • Document test results, configurations, rigging solutions and technical information. • Support pre-rigging work, component selection and complete Boat Builder packages. • Analyze the market, competitors' products and boat builders' future needs. • Collaborate with Honda's European Marine organization on shared boat builders and market initiatives. • Participate in tests, demonstrations, trade shows and other marine activities. You work independently but in close collaboration with the Country Section Manager, the Swedish Marine team and Honda's European organization. The position involves regular travel within Sweden and Europe. A Class B driver's license is therefore required. Your Profile For this role, we are looking for someone who truly understands boats and marine engineering. You may, for example, have worked at a boat builder, engine manufacturer, marina, technical distributor or in another role where you gained deep understanding of how boats are built, configured, rigged and optimized. You don't need to already be an expert on Honda's products. However, you need to have the technical foundation to quickly understand an application, discuss solutions with a boat builder and build credibility on technical matters. Experience with outboard engines and rigging is particularly relevant, but experience from, for example, inboard engines, marine drivetrains or similar technical environments may also be of interest. For Honda, understanding the marine industry and boat builders' reality is central. We would like to see that you: • Have solid technical understanding of boats, marine drivetrains, rigging or related areas. • Have experience from the marine industry, preferably from a boat builder, engine supplier or other technical marine operation. • Can read and understand technical documentation and translate it into practical solutions. • Are comfortable with digital systems and modern marine electronics. • Have the ability to combine technical understanding with a commercial perspective. • Are relationship-focused and confident in dialogue with both technicians and business leaders. • Are organized and can document tests, configurations and activities in a clear manner. • Are self-driven and thrive with great freedom and responsibility. • Communicate fluently in Swedish and have good knowledge of English. • Have a Class B driver's license and the ability to travel regularly. You don't need to come from a pure sales role. We are equally interested in the technically strong candidate who has the right personality and business interest to develop relationships with boat builders. What matters is that you can combine technical credibility with the ability to build relationships and identify business opportunities.
