As an important part of building society in northern Sweden, where some of the most decisive investments are being made, we are now seeking the right person for this important role as Senior Work Supervisor with solid expertise in steel, steel construction, and assembly for one of our complex projects. About the Role Do you want to take a key role in one of Sweden's most extensive industrial projects related to the construction of tomorrow's steel production? As a Blockchef in steel/assembly at NCC, you will have overall responsibility for planning, management, and execution of steel assembly in a complex and safety-critical steel mill environment. The role has a clear focus on assembly management, heavy lifting, and steel construction production. You are responsible for driving production forward – from establishment to final delivery – with focus on quality, work environment, economics, and schedule. The role involves leading work supervisors, skilled workers, and subcontractors while ensuring work is conducted efficiently and in accordance with NCC's high safety standards. You will be a central link between production, project management, and the client, where you contribute to both stable delivery and business development. Your Main Responsibilities Overall responsibility for the steel block within the project – schedule, planning, production, economics, and results. Lead and develop the team of project engineers, work supervisors, and steel assemblers in daily operations. Drive and coordinate assembly production with focus on heavy lifting and steel installations. Ensure that work follows NCC's requirements for work environment, safety, and quality. Plan resources, material flows, and production setup in close collaboration with project management. Build and strengthen relationships between different disciplines as well as with clients and partners. Drive continuous improvement and efficiency initiatives in production. You are not just a leader in production – you are a culture bearer who creates structure, safety, and momentum in an environment where safety and collaboration are essential. Your Profile We are seeking you as a confident and structured leader with experience from complex industrial projects and steel construction assembly. You have the ability to build trust within the organization, drive production forward, and simultaneously ensure stability, quality, and momentum in daily work on site. You are a team player and have the ability to motivate your colleagues and create engagement in the team. Perhaps you are working today as a site manager and want to take the next step in a larger industrial project – or you already have experience leading steel construction assembly in complex environments. We believe you have: Several years of experience in leadership roles with personnel responsibility in steel assembly or heavy industry. Documented experience in assembly management, heavy lifting, and steel construction production. Experience working according to SS-EN 1090. Good understanding of production planning, financial monitoring, and risk management. A present and communicative leadership style with focus on safety and results. Good IT proficiency, especially in the Office suite. You work proactively to ensure efficient collaboration and have an easy time building long-term, trusting relationships – both internally with colleagues and externally with subcontractors. Good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written. B-class driving license is a requirement. Merits include: Experience from steel mills or other heavy industrial production. Knowledge of construction law and bidding work. Experience with change management in established organizations. Placement Location We expect 100% presence in Luleå, a prerequisite for succeeding in the role. However, it is possible to take on this role even for someone living elsewhere.
