Job Description The person we are seeking will conduct research and contribute to the continued development of the research environment in physics, applied physics, computer science, chemistry, or education within one of these fields. The position includes developing teaching competencies that include instruction at both undergraduate and advanced levels, as well as supervision of doctoral students and postdoctoral researchers. The employee is expected to actively seek external funding for their research activities. The position is limited to 6 years, consisting of 75% independent research and 25% teaching. This is a tenure-track position, which makes it possible to develop and establish long-term research. An Assistant Professor has the right to, upon request, be considered for promotion to Associate Professor. Learn about the research conducted at the Faculty of Science and Technology's departments here: Research at Departments and Research Centers Qualifications To be eligible for employment as an Assistant Professor, one must hold a doctoral degree or have equivalent scientific competence. Primarily, candidates should have completed a doctoral degree or reached equivalent competence no more than seven years before the application deadline for the Assistant Professor position. However, those who completed their doctoral degree or reached equivalent competence earlier may also be considered if there are special circumstances. Special circumstances include leave due to illness, parental leave, or other similar situations. The doctoral degree or equivalent scientific competence must be in physics, applied physics, computer science, chemistry, or education within one of these fields, and be relevant to the receiving department at the faculty. Excellent knowledge of English is required, both spoken and written. Evaluation Criteria In hiring an Assistant Professor, the degree of competence required for eligibility for employment shall apply. In addition, the degree of pedagogical competence and other competencies of importance in relation to the subject matter of the position and the work tasks to be included in the employment shall be considered. In addition, the degree of pedagogical competence and other competencies of importance in relation to the subject matter of the position and the work tasks to be included in the employment shall be considered. The ability to develop and lead activities and personnel at the university, as well as the ability to collaborate and cooperate with society and communicate about research and development work will be considered.
