Rekarnegymnasiet is Eskilstuna's largest upper secondary school with approximately 1,300 students. The school is beautifully located by the Kronskogens nature reserve, just under one kilometer outside central Eskilstuna. We offer successful vocational programs where many students transition directly to employment. We provide education in the areas of construction, electrical work, vehicles, childcare and recreation, plumbing, economics, social sciences, natural sciences, and introductory programs. We are Eskilstuna's sports upper secondary school where all instruction is infused with a health perspective with sports and wellness in focus. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES As assistant principal with us, you have responsibility for operations and school development. You collaborate with the rest of the school leadership and the school's competent staff, develop Rekarnegymnasiet based on national and local goals, and cooperate with student support services, social services, police, schools, recreation, other departments, and the business community. The principals and three assistant principals have overall program responsibility and are responsible for students, student support processes, staff, administration, finances, marketing, and the unit's systematic quality work. The management team also includes an administrative director. You are a visible leader and conversation partner for your staff, and you are expected to contribute leadership that invites staff and students to participate and have influence over development. You are responsible for leading learning and development processes, developing pedagogical leadership, and are interested in creating an operation of the highest quality. You are responsible for developing the school's programs in collaboration with students, staff, and the rest of the school leadership. You are present among students, staff, and guardians with the aim of making a difference and contributing. You ensure planning, implementation, follow-up, and evaluation in line with the requirements set in national and local governing documents. QUALIFICATIONS You must have higher education of at least 120 credits or 180 ECTS, principal training, or equivalent education. You have experience leading within larger complex organizations and an interest in meeting young people and families with different backgrounds and circumstances. Your ability to express yourself in speech and writing in Swedish is good, you are communicative, and experienced in speaking to groups large and small. You need to have good IT skills and a positive attitude toward developing the use of IT tools in both the administrative and pedagogical areas. You preferably have experience working as an assistant principal and leading in cooperation with, for example, Student Support Services, Social Services, Police, and networking to establish new contacts in the field. It is an advantage if you have experience working as a manager with responsibility for staff, finances, and operations, and if you have pedagogical insight according to the requirements of the education law.
