Subject Description Electric Power Engineering encompasses studies of sustainable systems for electricity generation and transportation of electrical energy, as well as the interaction between electrical networks, electricity generation and electricity consumption. Work Duties Associate professors are normally engaged in both university education, pedagogical development work and research. For an associate professor, it also includes following the international development of the subject as well as supervising doctoral students. Associate professors are expected to contribute to the university's development work, work to bring external research funds to the subject and be available for management and administrative tasks. For associate professors, it also includes leading research projects and communicating their results through academic publications, as well as being active within the research community in their own field. As an associate professor, you will strengthen the group and broaden research activities, supervise doctoral students and teach students. Possible research directions are: Operation and operational safety of future transmission and distribution networks Planning, acceptance limits (network capacity) and reliability of future transmission and distribution networks Protection of future transmission and distribution networks Eligibility Eligible for employment as an associate professor is one who has demonstrated both scientific and pedagogical competence. Equal care shall be given to the assessment of pedagogical as scientific competence. To meet the requirements for employment as an associate professor, the applicant shall demonstrate a research profile with clear progression after the doctoral thesis and scientific contributions equivalent to at least two doctoral dissertations including the doctoral dissertation have worked as an independent researcher, through, among other things, experience of research-related positions of trust, such as reviewer for journals and/or opponent experience of having applied for and obtained external funding for research and/or development projects in competition experience of having had a leading role in research projects have published with researchers in research environments other than their own have experience of supervision at doctoral education level and have acted as assistant supervisor for at least one doctoral student for at least two years, unless there are exceptional reasons otherwise demonstrate pedagogical competence through reflected experience, teaching skills and teaching development have completed higher education pedagogy training corresponding to 7.5 credits, or alternatively have acquired equivalent knowledge in another way demonstrate ability to cooperate with the surrounding society, by, among other things, making new knowledge accessible to the surrounding society incorporate societal needs in research and/or educational contexts.
