The Social Services Department's mission is to create security and support for people at different stages of life. We work to ensure that the municipality's residents receive high-quality social care and have a special responsibility for addressing the needs of society's most vulnerable groups. The Social Services Department has nearly 1,000 employees distributed across five departments and a staff with quality and process leaders within various operational areas. Through close collaboration with other municipal administrations, authorities, and civil society, we create conditions for good health, security, and welfare for the municipality's residents. Kiruna is undergoing a unique societal transformation that affects both the municipality and the social services department's operations. As Deputy Director, you will have a central role in developing one of the municipality's largest and most socially important operations. 1 position(s). DUTIES As Deputy Director you work closely with the Director and are part of the department's management group, where you contribute to converting political goals into benefits for the municipality's residents. The role involves working in a changing environment where development, collaboration, and innovation are important conditions for meeting future needs. You will be responsible for parts of the department management's organization with operational, financial, personnel, and work environment responsibility. The role also includes department-wide responsibility and includes, among other things: • supporting and developing the department's managers and operations in strategic development matters • coordinating the department's strategic development work • contributing to the implementation of new legislation and national reforms Together with the Director, department heads, and other key functions, you work to develop the social services department as a whole and create the best possible conditions for the municipality's residents' security, health, and welfare. QUALIFICATIONS To succeed in the role, we see that you have: • relevant academic degree or other education and experience that the employer deems equivalent • several years of experience in management positions with responsibility for operations, finances, personnel, and work environment • experience leading through other managers • strong ability to work strategically and drive development and change initiatives • strong ability to create collaboration and build trusting relationships • analytical, strategic, and solution-oriented ability to lead operations and people through change It is meritorious if you have: • experience in management positions in a politically governed organization • experience from social services operational areas The position involves placement in a security classification. A requirement for employment is Swedish citizenship and approved security clearance. We place great importance on personal suitability. Employment form: Permanent employment.
