The Department of Dentistry at Sahlgrenska Academy, University of Gothenburg, is seeking a research associate for placement at the Division of Cariology.
The Department of Dentistry conducts education and research in the dental field. Each year, 93 dentists, 30 dental hygienists, and 20 dental technicians graduate, as well as a number of doctoral students. Activities are carried out at 13 divisions and in close collaboration with institutions at Sahlgrenska Academy and Public Dental Health Västra Götaland.
Activities at the Division of Cariology encompass projects concerning especially diseases related to hard tooth tissues (caries and erosion damage) as well as various aspects related to the oral environment with specific focus on biofilm and saliva.
Duties:
The work includes, among other things:
* Microbiological laboratory work including saliva analyses, microbiological analyses, fluoride analyses, and analysis of dental plaque's acid-forming capacity through pH analyses,
* Clinical research work including handling of research subjects,
* Analysis and statistical work
Qualifications:
The applicant must be a dentist. Research experience in the subject area is desirable.
Great weight will be placed on personal suitability.
Employment:
The position is temporary, 6 months with 50% full-time equivalent, placed at the Division of Cariology, Department of Dentistry, Sahlgrenska Academy.
Start date as soon as possible and by agreement.
