About the position: You will be part of the Molecular Cancer Diagnostics unit, which is part of the section for Molecular Cancer Diagnostics & Screening. The unit is located in both Huddinge and Solna. The position has primary placement in Huddinge, but work in Solna may occur. Within the operation, we use molecular methods to examine tumors and genetic changes upon request from pathologists. The results are reported back to the ordering physician and contribute to more precise molecular diagnostics. You work in a multidisciplinary team together with doctors, engineers, molecular biologists, and biomedical analysts. We use modern technology in DNA and RNA sequencing to create value for patients. In the role, you will, among other things: - register samples in the laboratory data system Sympathy and, if needed, handle sample shipments - handle incoming samples and perform quality controls before DNA and RNA sequencing - work with various PCR methods and sequencing, including Sanger sequencing and pyrosequencing - work with various laboratory instruments for PCR and sequencing, among others - document results in laboratory information systems (LIS) and work in quality management systems - report deviations and incidents and contribute to quality work by suggesting improvements in workflows - have contact with collaboration partners - perform regular cleaning in the laboratories, replenish consumables, and unpack reagents and other deliveries. We are looking for someone who: - is independent and has confidence in your own professional ability. You can switch between tasks and contribute where the operation needs it - has good teamwork skills and works attentively and constructively together with different professions. You contribute to good cooperation and help where needed - is quality-conscious and works carefully and methodically with a focus on achieving the right quality. You notice deviations and actively contribute to developing and improving workflows and working methods. Qualifications: Requirements: - biomedical analyst degree or master's degree in molecular life sciences, such as biotechnology, biomedicine, molecular biology, or biochemistry, or equivalent competence - experience with laboratory work using molecular biological methods, such as real-time PCR or ddPCR, and instruments such as cobas, QuantStudio, or LightCycler - experience with documentation in areas such as quality, method descriptions, and/or verification reports - good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written. Meritorious: - experience working in accredited operations according to ISO 15189, ISO 17025, or equivalent - experience with Sanger sequencing, pyrosequencing, or NanoString - good knowledge and practical experience of DNA and RNA extraction - experience participating in regulatory inspections, such as SWEDAC - good practice in using computers and IT systems as working tools.
