Bilsmidigt is now seeking a Car Inspector / Car Runner to join our team in Upplands Väsby. This is a hybrid role for someone who loves cars, enjoys hands-on work, and appreciates a work day where tasks can vary. The role consists of two main parts: testing and inspecting cars that come to us, and working as a car runner to help keep our daily car flow moving. The split between the two parts is not fixed but is driven by operational needs. During certain periods you may work up to 100% as a car inspector, and during other periods up to 100% as a car runner. You therefore need to be comfortable with both parts of the role and flexible about where you're needed most at any given time. Our customers can complete the entire car purchase online and have the car delivered directly to their home. At our facility in Upplands Väsby, sales, purchasing, workshop, reconditioning, tire service, logistics, photography, and car inspection work together to ensure high quality throughout the process. Here we value people who take responsibility, show commitment, and come with their own initiatives. As a Car Inspector As a car inspector, you are an important part of our incoming car flow. You test, test drive, and inspect cars that come to us to ensure we get a clear picture of the car's condition and what measures may need to be taken. You work methodically and carefully and need to be able to detect both obvious and less obvious defects and shortcomings. Work tasks include: Test and test drive incoming cars Identify faults, damage, and other shortcomings Document the results from completed tests Check the car's functions and general condition Photograph and document relevant discrepancies Report what faults and repair needs have been identified Check for example engine, transmission, brakes, electronics, and other functions As a Car Runner As a car runner, your task is to help keep our car flow moving. It is a practical and mobile role where you ensure that cars get to the right place at the right time and help the logistics team with tasks that need to be handled during the day. A typical work day might involve picking up a car from a customer, driving another to the workshop or inspection, and then helping move and organize cars on our parking areas. Work tasks include: Pick up and deliver cars from customers Move and park cars at the facility Help keep track of cars and keys Move cars between different locations and parking areas Perform simple checklists, photography, and receipts Assist the logistics team with practical matters as needed Drive cars to and from workshops, inspections, and partner organizations We are looking for you who You have a strong interest in cars and enjoy hands-on work. You need to be thorough in your work and at the same time be able to work efficiently when the pace is high. Since the role is a hybrid position, you need to be flexible, solution-oriented, and comfortable with work tasks changing based on operational needs. Enjoy hands-on work Have a strong interest in cars Are responsible and self-driven Have a B driver's license for manual transmission Can work at a fast pace Are thorough and have an eye for detail Have a good understanding of how cars work Are good at collaborating and helping where needed Are flexible and can switch between different types of work tasks Previous experience from car sales, workshop, car inspection, vehicle logistics, reconditioning, or similar work is advantageous, but the right attitude and genuine interest in cars carry significant weight.
