Librarian with Coordination Responsibility – be part of developing Laxå's new meeting place Do you want to help shape the future library in Laxå? There's a lot happening in culture in Laxå right now. The library will become part of Kulturtorget – our new meeting place in central Laxå, where library, culture, and activities come together under one roof. We are now looking for a librarian with coordination responsibility who wants to be part of this journey. This is the position for you if you love the library's core mission – literature, reading, knowledge, freedom of expression, and meeting people – but who also enjoys developing, thinking innovatively, and making things happen. Your Assignment As a librarian with coordination responsibility, you work closely with both colleagues and your manager, and you have a special responsibility for holding together, coordinating, and developing the library operations. You are not a manager, but you have an important role in the whole. You contribute with structure and forward planning in daily operations, drive development initiatives, and help us turn ideas into practice. And we will need ideas. When the library becomes part of Kulturtorget, new opportunities open up. How do we create a place that people want to visit – even those who didn't initially plan to visit a library? How can libraries, art, culture, children and youth, community organizations, and other activities meet? And how do we develop the library without losing what is the very core of our mission? We want you to help shape that. Your assignment includes coordinating and planning ongoing library operations, driving and participating in development work, working with reading promotion initiatives, media, program activities, and digital inclusion, as well as developing collaboration with other organizations and stakeholders. Of course, you also work in daily operations and meet our visitors. In Laxå we are close to each other and help one another – here the distance between idea and implementation is often short. Laxå library is also part of Bergslagsbibblan, a collaboration between nine public libraries in Örebro County, and here you will play an important role as a representative of our operations. Who Are You? We are looking for someone with a degree in Library and Information Science or other education that we consider equivalent. We would like you to have experience from public libraries and to have previously worked with development issues, coordination, project management, or similar. But for us, how you approach the assignment is also important. You need to be able to see the bigger picture while making daily operations run smoothly. You take initiative and drive matters forward, but do so together with others. You are curious about new ways of working and collaborations and enjoy building relationships – both within the organization and with the people and stakeholders around us. Since you will coordinate without being a manager, you need to be confident in yourself and skilled at creating engagement, clarity, and participation. Why Laxå? This position is a permanent full-time employment. Evening and possible weekend duties may occur. Start date by agreement.
