Our democratic mission means that everyone should have access to knowledge, culture, and support. 1 position(s). DUTIES Do you want to help create a love of reading, in your own way? We are looking for a dedicated and curious librarian for Agnes Kulturhus who wants to make a difference for our Gävle residents, both within the library walls and out in the community. You work with adult reading, interlibrary loans, and staff the library at Agnes Kulturhus. Your Role As a librarian with us, you are a relationship builder, inspiring and enabling others. You are curious about people and enjoy finding new paths to reading and the library. Perhaps you have an idea that no one has tried before. Perhaps you see an opportunity where others see an obstacle. And above all, you like to make your ideas a reality. The position includes common public library tasks such as selection and purchase of media as well as staffing. In the library, you meet Gävle residents and guide them in the library's services, inspire and recommend literature, and provide professional service. You also play a key role in developing and organizing reading promotion activities for adults. In your role, you work with service development and are open to trying new methods and ways to share literature and reading experiences. You plan, develop, and implement public reading promotion activities with a focus on inspiring and fostering a love of reading. You also hold main responsibility for the library's interlibrary loan operations. There, you are structured in your planning and have good collaboration skills with other team members. Within all your roles, you follow up, evaluate, and develop the service areas you are responsible for, aiming for continuous improvement and development. We believe you are a person who takes initiative, sees opportunities, and makes things happen. You don't need to have all the answers from the start. However, you need to be curious enough to ask questions, brave enough to try, and persistent enough to develop what works. QUALIFICATIONS Formal Requirements You have higher education in library and information science and more than one year of work experience within the library field. The following experience is meriting: • Speaking to groups and leading literature discussions with groups • Book circles and other reading promotion work • Library systems Bookit or Quria. You as a Person • Have the ability to work with other people. You listen, show empathy, and respect. • Are unpretentious and notice and reward others' contributions. • Radiate credibility and self-confidence. • Speak clearly and have the ability to give presentations, lectures, and training as well as adapt them to the target audience's needs. • Have the ability to see what needs to be prioritized, are efficient, and use resources to best achieve results. • Take initiative in social settings and have an ability to build trust in your professional relationships. • Are responsive, collaboration-oriented, and keen on building good relationships with colleagues, citizens, and other stakeholders.
