Job Description In the role of Decision Support Officer, you provide support in client decision-making for the Prison Inspector and Probation Inspectors. You work strategically, operationally, and administratively on matters primarily concerning client processes. The role involves preparing and quality-assuring decisions, developing decision documentation, and making decisions in individual cases based on delegation authority. You ensure that decisions comply with applicable legislation, regulations and guidelines, and maintain high linguistic and formal quality. An important part of the work is to stay updated on regulations and maintain contact with legal advisors and headquarters on policy matters. You also coordinate these matters within the operational area. Additionally, you actively participate in the probation service collegium and legal care forum/practice forum, where you contribute to the development of the work. The role also involves close collaboration with your supervisor and colleagues to proactively identify development opportunities and areas for improvement. You design and propose structures for more efficient work processes and are responsible for driving and monitoring the implementation of these. The position may include some client work. Qualifications We are looking for someone who is structured, analytical, and has a strong ability to express yourself well in both speech and writing. You have the ability to plan, prioritize, and independently drive your processes forward, and you feel confident making decisions and can make well-considered assessments even in complex situations. In your communication, you are both attentive and clear, and you have good collaborative skills. You find it easy to build trust and ensure that information and messages reach their intended recipients and that roles, responsibilities and expectations are clear to all parties involved. You have a coaching and pedagogical approach and enjoy supporting and guiding others in their work. High integrity and a professional manner are self-evident for you. We are looking for someone who has: An academic degree (at least bachelor's level), preferably in social work, behavioral science, criminology or law, or alternatively another academic degree combined with experience that the Swedish Prison and Probation Service considers relevant Experience in case handling and government administration Experience with the Swedish Prison and Probation Service's activities, particularly the probation service Solid knowledge of administrative law Good knowledge of the Swedish language, both spoken and written We would like it if you have: Experience in decision-making based on legislation Experience in supervisory tasks Experience in internal and external collaboration Experience in qualified analysis or investigation work as a basis for decision-making Experience working as a decision support officer Other language skills, meaning you have a good ability to express yourself verbally in languages other than Swedish In order to thrive and succeed in your assignment, it is important that you share the Swedish Prison and Probation Service's fundamental values of a humane view of people, respect for the individual, and the belief that people are capable of development.
