We are now expanding our operations and building additional expertise in civil defense and emergency preparedness. The County Administrative Board is the highest civilian total defense authority in Västra Götaland County and in the Western civil defense area. Together with the Swedish Armed Forces and a number of other actors, we coordinate civil and military defense. About the job Are you drawn to working as an emergency preparedness officer with an operational focus and contributing to societal benefit? Do you have a good grasp of the Swedish emergency preparedness system and experience managing societal disturbances? Are you also skilled at working goal-oriented and enjoy developing operations? Then you might be our new emergency preparedness officer! As an emergency preparedness officer at the External Management Unit, you will work to increase the authority's ability to manage events related to societal disturbances and civil defense together with other actors in society. Your main responsibilities are to: Develop the County Administrative Board's command post, staff operations and emergency preparedness functions. Participate in exercise activities Work in the County Administrative Board's staff for peacetime crises and during heightened alert. Collaborate with other actors such as rescue services, the Swedish Armed Forces or municipalities. You will also be involved in other tasks within the unit's operational area, such as developing planning materials, responding to referrals, serving as a lecturer at conferences and training sessions, and participating in other civil preparedness work together with colleagues. The Civil Defense and Emergency Preparedness Department is responsible for handling the County Administrative Board's civil defense and emergency preparedness tasks. The department contains four units with different areas of responsibility. The department's mandate includes handling, planning and preparation for peacetime crises, before and during heightened alert and war. In addition to developing the County Administrative Board's own capacity, we support and coordinate other actors in the county with responsibility for civil defense and emergency preparedness. We are always developing our operations and you therefore need to be open to the possibility that your tasks may also change over time. The work location is Gothenburg. We offer flexible work with good opportunities for remote work part of the time. Travel within the country occurs. About you We are looking for someone who takes initiative and works structurally by planning and implementing your work efficiently within given or self-set time frames. You have: Relevant university education equivalent to a bachelor's degree in crisis management or other education combined with experience deemed relevant for the tasks. Experience working with emergency preparedness or total defense issues from the private sector, municipality or municipal company, region, or state authority or state company. Experience collaborating and cooperating with various actors in society. Experience working in a staff during the management of various events Good ability to express yourself in Swedish both orally and in writing. Experience in one or more of these areas; investigations, planning, analyses, situation assessment work or equivalent. Class B driver's license We would like to see that you have: Experience working with geographic information systems (GIS). Experience planning and conducting exercises with multiple actors. Experience working with rescue services or other tasks under the Act on Protection Against Accidents. Experience handling matters in public operations with regard to public access and confidentiality.
