We are looking for a confident, committed, and curious childcare provider who wants to work closely with a nearly five-year-old boy at our preschool. Your assignment will also include working with parts of the child group throughout the day.
He is a cheerful and social boy with intellectual disability and motor difficulties. He can walk short distances but needs support in many situations during the day. He does not speak and needs the opportunity to develop his communication in other ways, primarily through pictures and sign language.
Your assignment will be to actively drive and develop pedagogical support around him and create the best possible conditions for communication, movement, development, and participation. This includes, among other things, using and developing visual supports and sign language, creating communicative games and situations, and adapting preschool activities so he can participate at his level and according to his abilities.
You need to be curious about what can help him progress, seek knowledge, try new working methods, and implement them in daily practice. In the work, there is support from the preschool's educators, habilitation services, and engaged guardians – but you need to be able to take initiative and drive the work forward yourself.
We are looking for you who
are a trained childcare provider
have knowledge of or experience with AAC, visual supports, and/or TAKK
have good digital skills and can create and adapt educational material
are confident, structured, proactive, and very patient
We value commitment, curiosity, and the ability to apply knowledge in practice higher than many years of experience. Experience with children with intellectual disability, motor difficulties, or significant communication needs is a merit. Great weight is placed on personal suitability.
Further qualifications:
-are a committed educator with good collaboration skills and a positive attitude
-are attentive and have the ability to see and adapt teaching based on the child's individual needs and abilities
-have good structure in your work
-are used to working independently during the day, but also have the ability to work in a group
-want to be part of developing collegial work and shared approaches at the preschool
-are experienced in outdoor teaching
-have good insight into the preschool's systematic quality work
-have good physical strength, as the work may involve heavy lifting
-work well with guardians and colleagues
-can express yourself orally and in writing in Swedish
