Jönköping Municipality is a large employer with hundreds of different professional roles. We are growing as the municipality develops with more residents, more housing, and a broader range of services. We are always looking for new expertise—employees with different backgrounds and experiences, united by the shared drive to create a better municipality to visit, live, work, and reside in. Do you want to make a difference for children and young people and have you previously worked with foster care and public authority functions? We are now seeking an experienced, engaged, and knowledgeable child secretary for the Foster Care Unit. Your New Role The Foster Care Unit works to support placed children and guide foster families so that living conditions become as safe and stable as possible for both children and foster families. Jönköping Municipality is investing in enhanced foster care that includes expanded support, additional training, and guidance for foster families. Guided Participation (ICDP) and Signs of Safety are some of the tools we apply. As the child's social secretary, you are the child's designated contact responsible for handling and following up on the child's case. You monitor the child's life situation and conduct investigations as needed for interventions according to the Social Services Act and Act on Children in Need of Care. Your work tasks include child interviews, investigations and decisions, follow-ups, and reassessment of support according to Child Needs in Focus (BBIC). You are responsible for ensuring that the child's rights and voice are heard in contact with people in the child's network and other authorities, and that you particularly safeguard the child's best interests. You work closely with a foster care secretary on all cases. Your Qualifications You hold a degree in social work with several years of experience in public authority functions. Previous experience working with children, families, and foster families is particularly meritorious. It is also meritorious to have knowledge of and prior work experience with ICDP, Signs of Safety, BBIC, and MI. As a person, we believe you want to make a difference, take responsibility for your tasks, and plan your work efficiently. You value collaboration and understand the public authority role. Furthermore, you are confident in yourself and easily build connections with other people, and you enjoy working relationally with children, parents, and partner agencies. Engagement, responsibility, and participation in our business development are important to you, and you enjoy sharing your knowledge. You have very good proficiency in Swedish in spoken, reading, and written form. A category B driver's license is a requirement for our operations, and you must be able to drive both manual and automatic transmission vehicles. We place great emphasis on personal suitability! What We Offer You We offer you a 7-hour workday where work is conducted during daytime hours, Monday through Friday, individual salary setting, supervision, and work in a team with a strong group spirit and engaged and knowledgeable colleagues. As an employee, you are important to us, and when you join us, you will receive an introduction and close support in your work from management.
