Smiltenes novada Guardian Court announces an open competition for a vacant Guardian Court Member position.
We invite candidates who meet the following requirements and qualifications:
Citizen or non-citizen of the Republic of Latvia;
with an unblemished reputation;
has reached the age of 30;
state language proficiency at the highest level;
good communication, emotional resilience, and cooperation skills;
who has obtained at least an academic bachelor's degree or professional bachelor's degree and a level 5 professional qualification or another qualification corresponding to level 6 of the European Qualifications Framework as defined in Latvia's education classification in pedagogy, psychology, medicine, social work or legal science, education management or public administration, and who has at least three years of work experience in the relevant field of education obtained or in performing the duties of a guardian court chair, deputy chair, or member;
no restrictions under Article 11 of the Guardian Courts Law apply to the candidate;
Category B driving license;
*Preference will be given to candidates who have completed the training program mentioned in the fourth part of Article 10 of the Guardian Courts Law.
Your main responsibilities:
protect the rights and interests of children and persons in care by reviewing applications, complaints, conducting interviews, and inspecting living conditions;
take necessary actions to ensure the child's upbringing and proper care in a family environment;
participate in case examination in court and provide expert opinions;
cooperate with other guardian courts, the State Child Rights Protection Inspectorate, long-term social care and social rehabilitation institutions, healthcare and educational institutions, social services, police, the State Probation Service, and court executors;
maintain and work with databases, systems, and registers necessary for Guardian Court operations;
perform other duties mentioned in the Guardian Courts Law.
