Job description As Department Manager, you will have overall responsibility for leading, directing, and developing the department toward set goals. The role includes broad responsibility for personnel, work environment, operations, quality, economics, staffing, competency development, and KPI monitoring. Leadership is a central part of the assignment. With a present and clear leadership style, you create structure in daily operations and ensure that employees have the right conditions, information, motivation, and competence to succeed. You build engagement and accountability in a high-paced operation. The group consists of 2 team leaders and approximately 50-60 employees. You are responsible for running the department efficiently, profitably, and with high quality. This means ensuring planning and implementation of production, following up on targets and deviations, driving improvement initiatives, and contributing to long-term development and investments. The role involves close collaboration with the evening/weekend department manager, production management, maintenance, quality, and other support functions. Together, you ensure the right quality at the right time, a safe work environment, and production that meets customer requirements, regulatory requirements, and internal standards. You report to the Production Manager and are part of production's management team. In the role, you contribute both operationally and strategically – with a focus on people, structure, results, and development. Qualifications We are looking for someone with documented experience leading others, preferably in a manufacturing or production environment. You are accustomed to taking responsibility for both people and results and have the ability to create structure, follow up on goals, and drive work forward through others. We would like to see that you have post-secondary education in a relevant field, or alternatively experience that the employer deems equivalent. You have good knowledge of work environment and labor law as well as understanding of economics, budgeting, follow-up, and staffing planning. You have experience with quality, processes, and improvement work, and knowledge of LEAN or similar methodologies. Experience from the food industry and production systems is a merit. Good communication skills in Swedish and English, good IT proficiency, and a B-category driver's license are requirements. Who are you? To succeed in the role, your leadership is crucial. You are confident, clear, and fair in your leadership approach and create trust, engagement, and accountability among both managers and employees. You are present in operations and clear about goals, expectations, and follow-up. You thrive in an event-driven environment where conditions can change quickly. With calm, structure, and decision-making ability, you create stability even when the pace is high. You are driven, self-directed, and want to develop both people, work methods, and results.
