Forensic Psychiatry in Värmland is in an exciting development phase. We are now seeking a department manager for a one-year fixed-term position at unit 80 in Kristinehamn. Here you will have the opportunity to lead a dedicated work team and contribute to the development of a modern forensic psychiatric service at the forefront of the field. Your Workplace Forensic Psychiatry serves individuals referred for forensic psychiatric care. The unit provides care for individuals who have committed crimes while under the influence of serious mental illness and who, under Swedish law, cannot be sentenced to imprisonment. Operations are conducted in Kristinehamn and Karlstad. The service is in an expansion phase and encompasses a total of 42 inpatient beds in Kristinehamn and Karlstad, of which 10 are in security class 2 and 32 in security class 3. We are over 100 employees with broad expertise and extensive experience in psychiatry and forensic psychiatry. A decision has been made to build a new inpatient unit with security class 3 in our area in Kristinehamn with 14 care beds, which is very encouraging. We are now seeking a temporary department manager for unit 80 in Kristinehamn for one year. The unit is the only one with security class 2 in the region and has 10 care beds and two detention cells. As department manager, you play a key role in developing, leading, and monitoring operations with a focus on psychiatric care and rehabilitation. Your Responsibilities As department manager, you play a central role in creating and maintaining a safe, open, and learning culture on the unit, where both employee working environment and patient safety are in focus. In an operation with security class 2, systematic and well-integrated safety work is a natural part of daily leadership. You are responsible for leading, developing, and monitoring operations, staff, and finances. You collaborate closely with other department managers and participate in the management group. You are expected to contribute to the development of the entire operational area. Your Knowledge and Competencies We are seeking someone with academic education in healthcare and a B-class driver's license. Experience working in healthcare, preferably in psychiatric operations, is an asset. Previous leadership experience is also advantageous. As a manager, you are inclusive and coaching with the ability to see operations from a holistic perspective. You are a present leader who enjoys leading, developing, and monitoring daily work. You are organized, stress-resilient, and possess strong administrative skills. You work independently, are communicative and collaboration-oriented, with strong responsibility and a clear ethical compass. Great importance is placed on personal suitability.
