We are seeking a dedicated department manager who wants to help develop our school environments and local planning work. You will have an important role in creating good conditions for our operations – both in the present and for the long term.
Your Responsibilities
As a department manager, you will lead an operation with specialist expertise in areas such as local planning and investment preparation. You lead skilled specialists and create direction, engagement, and clarity in a work environment where conditions can change rapidly.
You will work with complex issues where different needs and perspectives need to be weighed together. A large part of the work involves structuring, coordinating, and prioritizing, while maintaining a strategic perspective. You have many contact points within the administration and organization and will become an important person in matters concerning our facilities and school environments.
The role includes work with local planning and detailed plans as well as coordinating referrals, committee initiatives, investigations, analyses, and forecasts. You will also be an important part of the administration's development and change efforts.
Your Qualifications
We are looking for someone with an academic degree and experience in a relevant leadership role. You are experienced in structuring, coordinating, and prioritizing work, preferably in a complex organization with many parallel processes.
You have experience with local planning and detailed plans as well as working with referrals, investigations, analyses, and forecasts. You can see the bigger picture, evaluate different materials, and make complex information understandable and useful for decision-making.
As a leader, you are confident, clear, and receptive. You enjoy leading and creating conditions for employees to use their expertise and develop together.
Leadership training, such as Västerås stad's Aspirant Program or equivalent, is a merit. It is also a merit if you have experience with change management.
