In close collaboration with healthcare, we contribute to safe, efficient, and sustainable care processes. As Department Head for Radiation Physics, you will lead an operation with high specialist expertise and a clear public mandate. The department is responsible for radiation physics expertise, quality assurance, development, and support within operations where ionizing and non-ionizing radiation is used. The assignment includes support to care operations, regulatory requirements, radiation safety, education, methodology development, and collaboration within diagnostics, treatment, and medical technology development. The department has employees with deep expertise in hospital physics, radiation protection, measurement technology, quality assurance, and medical technology applications. The operation is an important part of the region's capacity to conduct safe and high-quality care within, for example, radiology, nuclear medicine, radiotherapy, and other areas where radiation is used as part of diagnostics or treatment. As a manager in Region Västerbotten, you have an important assignment for both employees and residents in the county. RESPONSIBILITIES As Department Head with us, you see the bigger picture and potential and take us forward with courage. You are responsible for ensuring the operation develops in line with healthcare needs, technology development, and applicable requirements within radiation safety, quality, and patient safety. The assignment includes ensuring robust working methods, long-term competence supply, clear priorities, and systematic improvement work. You actively coach, elevate, and support employees and colleagues and contribute to the department's and base unit's joint development. You are part of CIMT's local management group and are expected to contribute with both operational perspective, strategic insight, and the ability to translate complex issues into implementable decisions. As Department Head, you work closely with the region's operations and represent Radiation Physics in matters concerning quality, safety, development, economy, and collaboration. Budget responsibility is included in the position. QUALIFICATIONS We are looking for you with relevant academic education for the assignment, for example in hospital physics, medical physics, technical physics, natural sciences, medical technology, or other education we consider equivalent. It is meritorious if you have experience from healthcare, radiation physics, radiation protection, medical technology operations, or other knowledge-intensive specialist operations with high demands for quality, safety, and regulatory compliance. Leadership or management experience is a requirement. It is meritorious if you have experience leading specialists, developing interprofessional working methods, and driving change in a complex organization. Experience with research and work within or in close collaboration with research environments is meritorious. Experience with operations, budget, and work environment responsibility is also meritorious. We are looking for you who creates a positive atmosphere in your surroundings and among your employees. On-call work occurs in the position. You have good knowledge of Swedish and English, both verbal and written. Employment type: Permanent employment. Duration: Indefinite, start date: By agreement. The role as manager within Region Västerbotten is a limited appointment typically for 4 years, combined with permanent employment within your area of expertise.
