We are now looking for an experienced automation engineer who wants to work on technology-intensive projects where advanced automation meets real operational challenges. We work across multiple industries, including process industry, energy, water and waste, manufacturing, and Life Science. Projects range from modernization of existing facilities to comprehensive investments and entirely new production plants. Your role: from system design to finished solution As an automation engineer with us, you'll work through the entire project lifecycle. You'll be involved from initial studies and system selection through programming, testing, commissioning, and long-term customer support. Depending on your experience, you can take responsibility for technical solutions, lead subprojects, or serve as a mentor to more junior colleagues. The role offers great variety and opportunities for development both technically and professionally. You will work with, among other things: Programming and configuration of DCS, PLC, and SCADA systems Automation in Siemens PCS7, ABB 800xA, and TIA Portal Feasibility studies, system design, and technical solutions Renovations and modernization of existing facilities Development of new production and process plants FAT, SAT, and commissioning Troubleshooting, optimization, and problem-solving Customer dialogue, technical advice, and coordination with other disciplines Knowledge sharing and support to team colleagues Why AFRY Advanced Automation? Qualifications We are looking for an experienced automation engineer who wants to drive advanced automation solutions at AFRY. The role suits you if you consider yourself mid-level/senior and have several years of experience in automation and relevant education or equivalent work experience. You are self-directed, take initiative, and thrive in project-based teams where you take responsibility for complex projects. We value your problem-solving ability, your business-minded approach, and your ability to build good relationships. Requirements Several years of experience in automation Relevant education or equivalent work experience Experience from industries such as automotive, process industry, water & waste, or energy & heating You are fluent in Swedish and English, both spoken and written Class B driver's license Knowledge and experience with systems such as: SIMATIC PCS7, ABB 800xA Meritorious Experience from Pharma/Life Science or manufacturing industry Knowledge of systems such as: AVEVA System Platform, Siemens TIA, and other DCS/PLC/SCADA systems Experience with older ABB products such as AC450 and MP200, as well as system upgrades Additional Information Welcome to apply!
