Key Responsibilities
o Container Platforms: Design, deployment and support of Docker/Podman clusters, Kubernetes (K8S/K3S) and OpenShift
o Cloud and Data Centers: Operations and optimization of infrastructure across on-premise and Google Cloud Platform (GCP), including installations, upgrades and migrations
o Security and Resilience: Implementation of hardening, patching, access control, backup/restore and disaster recovery/BCP procedures on Linux
o Automation and IaC: Creation and maintenance of configuration management and infrastructure as code using Ansible and Terraform (GitOps workflows preferred)
o Web Stack and Services: Support for LAMP and related web technologies; maintenance of CI/CD processes and releases in coordination with technical teams
o Virtualization and Computing: Planning and execution of Windows/Linux workload transitions in VMware environments; optimization of CPU/latency/throughput and storage strategies
o Observability and Compliance: Maintaining monitoring/alerting systems; Ensuring compliance with ISS IT policies and standards
o Collaboration and Support: Collaboration with internal customers, leading engineering projects from design to production, participation in global on-call rotation
o AI-Driven Approach: Demonstrating interest in using AI-powered tools to improve problem-solving, automation, documentation and proactive system improvements
Required Qualifications
o Previous experience with Enterprise Linux administration (Red Hat/Ubuntu strongly preferred), including performance tuning, networking, storage and security
o Practical cloud experience:
o Operating and securing cloud workloads (e.g. GCP/AWS/Azure)
o Observability using cloud monitoring/cloud logging; Awareness of costs and capacity
o Demonstrated interest or curiosity in leveraging AI or intelligent tools to improve daily system administration procedures
o Containers and Orchestration: Experience with production Kubernetes/OpenShift environments and container runtimes (Docker/Podman)
o Automation and IaC: Excellent knowledge of Ansible and Terraform (module design, state management, workspace hygiene)
o Virtualization and Hardware: Experience with VMware networking, Cisco/Fortinet, HPE and UCS servers and Pure Storage or comparable platforms
o Resilience: Experience implementing DR/BCP strategies and backup/restore tools
o Communication: Clear documentation and communication with stakeholders; Ability to work with distributed/global teams in English
Preferred Qualifications:
o DevOps practices and CI/CD (e.g. GitLab CI/GitHub Actions), artifact registries and pipeline hardening
o CyberArk Privileged Access Management administration
o Red Hat product suite (e.g. RHS, RHGS, RHDS)
o Additional configuration management experience (Puppet/Chef/Salt) alongside primary Ansible experience
o Knowledge of multi-cloud environments (AWS/Azure) and SRE practices (SLI/SLO, error budgets)
