Occupational Therapist at the Functional Support Administration
Malmö kommun · Full-time
Malmö stad August Palms plats 1, Malmö, Sweden
Ref: 20262001 Are you our new colleague? At the Functional Support Administration, Personal Assistance section, we work with patients who have personal assistance and live in ordinary housing. We are now seeking an occupational therapist to join our team. Job Responsibilities We work in a multidisciplinary manner with preventive, maintenance, and rehabilitative interventions. The overarching goal is to create a good, meaningful, and functional everyday life for our patients who have lasting and extensive functional limitations. We work with people from all target groups within the LSS framework and meet patients with, for example, acquired brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, intellectual disabilities, autism, cerebral palsy, various neurological diseases, and rare health conditions. You will meet patients in their homes and sometimes at daily activities facilities, and we often maintain close contact with family members. Collaboration with other stakeholders such as assistance companies, staff at daily activity facilities, habilitation services, health centers, home care services, and assistive device centers is necessary to ensure our patients receive the best possible care. Patients have significant assistive device needs and often require special adaptations. As an occupational therapist, you will work with, among other things, testing and prescription of assistive devices, mobility transfers, writing housing adaptation certificates, cognitive interventions, activity balance, and activities of daily living training. Working from a person-centered perspective and having a pedagogical and motivating approach is important, both to support the patient and the people in their surrounding network. Qualifications We are looking for you who are a licensed occupational therapist and have an interest in working with people within the LSS framework who have personal assistance. Previous experience working with this target group is a merit, as is experience in municipal health and social care. You have a holistic perspective and the ability to analyze and reflect from different perspectives and can find solutions depending on needs and situation. You can take great personal responsibility, set boundaries for your work, and work in a goal-focused manner. Your ability to plan and prioritize is good, both independently and with support from your colleagues and immediate supervisor. You have an empathetic, attentive, and compassionate approach and understand the importance of creating a therapeutic alliance with patients. Working in a team is something you enjoy, and you are a team player. The many interesting patient cases contribute to increased knowledge and continuous development within many occupational therapy areas. With us, your workday is exciting, substantive, and varied. Very good knowledge of the Swedish language is required, both spoken and written. Good computer skills and experience with documentation are required. A B-class driver's license is required, as is the ability to cycle.
