We are now recruiting an Occupational Health and Safety Specialist for chemical hazards in the workplace who wants to take Ragn-Sells' occupational health and safety work to a new level. You will be based in the central occupational health and safety unit and work with our operations throughout Sweden, which involves some business travel. Are you driven by strategic development and improvement work with great opportunities to make an impact? Then this role might be for you!
Job Responsibilities
Our occupational health and safety function works at a strategic level to develop structures, processes, methods, and tools to enable Ragn-Sells' Swedish operations to conduct systematic occupational health and safety work.
As an occupational health and safety specialist, you will primarily work with chemical hazards in the physical work environment, such as:
Chemical handling
Risk assessments
Occupational health examinations
Medical check-ups
Personal protective equipment
The role includes both management and monitoring of existing practices, as well as development as needed. You will do this in collaboration with colleagues in the occupational health and safety function, cross-functionally with other support functions, labor organizations, and others from the operations.
You are responsible for identifying and analyzing overarching trends and risk areas, and for proposing measures based on reported occupational health and safety incidents in our deviation management system.
You report to the Head of Occupational Health and Safety for Ragn-Sells Sweden.
Your Profile
We are looking for someone with a degree in occupational health and safety engineering, a higher education degree in chemistry or similar, and 3–5 years of experience working with chemical hazards in the workplace. You have knowledge of occupational health and safety legislation, physical and chemical risks, and ISO 45001. You are well versed in laws and requirements, interpretation and application within the entire physical and technical work environment. You have pedagogical skills as information and training initiatives are part of the role. You have an interest in deviation management.
You are a communicative team player who works equally well in teams as independently. It is important that you have the ability to independently perform and complete work tasks. You communicate fluently in Swedish and English, both verbally and in writing. The role involves business travel, so you need to have a driver's license (category B) and be able to travel regularly, as the role supports our regions in the South.
Possible office locations for this position are any of Ragn-Sells' offices.
Who is This Role For?
To thrive in this role, you need the ability to drive your work independently, proactively, with a development focus and in a structured manner, and to project-lead others as needed. You are comfortable with producing documentation and various communication materials and supporting managers in a consultative and coaching manner. You have excellent communication skills and an ease for building networks. You have the ability to listen to the organization's needs and easily absorb and contribute knowledge.
