WORK RESPONSIBILITIES We are now seeking a work supervisor for our Central Group! As a work supervisor with us, you are an important piece of the puzzle when we maintain and develop Katrineholm's green spaces. We currently have four work teams that manage our green areas, where each team has its geographic area of responsibility but where collaboration is a natural part of our shared mission. Your role as a work supervisor involves joining the parks unit's management team together with the unit manager, city gardener, and three colleagues who are work supervisors. You will perform certain administrative tasks, but your main responsibility is to work practically in the field together with your team. The work can occasionally be physically demanding but varies throughout the year. Practical tasks you will perform include planning and implementing plantings in central Katrineholm, maintenance of parks and other municipal areas, tree pruning, as well as installation and removal of Christmas lighting. This involves working from a cherry picker and operating machinery. There is also cleaning and other assignments within the parks unit. As a team member at Parks, you work both as part of a group and independently. This position involves weekend work and on-call duty. During winter, snow management is included with some night shift work. QUALIFICATIONS We are looking for someone with education in horticulture and experience in work supervision in a similar field. Post-secondary education in horticulture is an advantage, as it will give you the opportunity to plan and contribute to the development of the municipality's green spaces. Since the work team's focus is maintaining Katrineholm's parks, you must have good plant knowledge to succeed as a work supervisor with us. A driver's license for a manual transmission vehicle is required to be able to move around the municipality. We have extensive contact with residents, colleagues, and coworkers, which means you must have a good command of the Swedish language both spoken and written. Good computer skills are needed to manage our systems. Working in an operations organization means that planning can quickly and often change, which is why we see that you are a flexible person.
