The Education and Employment Administration's mission is to increase individuals' opportunities to find employment and become self-sufficient through education, internships, and work. Employment and Income Support is responsible for planning, implementing, and coordinating the municipality's employment initiatives as well as administering financial assistance. The overall mission is to support community residents toward self-sufficiency and enable them to participate in society. We are currently seeking work supervisors for our various workplaces: 1. Property and Recycling Center (HEM) 2. Industrial Technology, Halvin Your Responsibilities As a work supervisor, you lead, plan, and organize daily operations at our facilities while working closely with participants and being an active part of the operations. You create structure, provide guidance, and motivate participants in their development toward working life and contribute to a safe, inclusive, and developmental work environment. You are responsible for the work environment at the facility and actively work on continuous improvements. Together with coaches, mentors, and administrators, you collaborate on individual planning for participants and ensure that operations function both practically and administratively. The role also includes monitoring participant attendance and managing invoicing documentation. You should have an interest in service and practical work. Our facilities develop based on participants' needs and the municipality's mandate, which means content and working methods may change over time. Your Qualifications We seek an engaged and confident work supervisor with the ability to create structure, build strong relationships, and motivate others. You thrive with practical work where you lead through active participation in operations and see the value in supporting people on their path toward self-sufficiency. For this position, you must have: - Post-secondary education in social work or other education the employer deems equivalent - Experience with employment initiatives, social work, or other work with people in transition - Strong ability to plan, organize, and prioritize work - Good collaboration skills and ability to build trusting relationships It is particularly meritorious if you have: - Practical skills and an interest in service and varied work tasks - An established network within the local business community and experience creating contacts with employers to find pathways for participants to work or other meaningful activities - A Class B driver's license Personal Competencies As a work supervisor, collaboration skills are important for cooperating with colleagues, participants, and other stakeholders to provide participants with the best possible support. The role also requires service orientation through professional and solution-focused conduct that contributes to a safe and inclusive environment. Flexibility is needed to adapt working methods and priorities when circumstances change. Good planning and organizational skills are also important for managing operations, coordinating activities, and handling administration. Finally, integrity is a central competency as the role involves responsibility for sensitive information and requires professional and lawful conduct.
