About the Operations Regional Ambulance Operations in Region Västernorrland is responsible for prehospital care throughout the region and provides residents with safe, accessible, and high-quality ambulance services. The operations consist of several ambulance stations and prehospital resources that together handle approximately 36,000 assignments each year. With high expertise, close collaboration with healthcare and community stakeholders, and a strong focus on development and knowledge-based management, we work to provide the right care at the right level, around the clock. We are now seeking an Ambulance Medical Director for a position that requires some clinical work within the region at one of our acute care facilities (Anesthesia/Operating Room/Intensive Care Unit, emergency department), by agreement between operations. The position is a permanent full-time employment, with start date by agreement. We welcome candidates with an interest in driving development work. We place great emphasis on personal suitability. Responsibilities Medical leadership responsibility with support to operations, staff, and management on medical matters. Participation in operations management and leadership group, focusing on both operational issues and strategic development. Development and creation of treatment guidelines, medical directives, and work procedures. Collaboration with regional operations, external stakeholders, and national networks. Responsibility for patient safety follow-up through medical record reviews, incident investigations, and event analyses. Active presence in operations through workplace visits and ambulance ride-alongs. Leadership and development of competency development initiatives, including serving as Course Medical Director for the local PHTLS and AMLS faculty. Monitoring the external environment and developing prehospital care based on current evidence and national knowledge-based management. Clinical work within Anesthesia/Operating Room/Intensive Care or emergency departments according to agreed scope. Qualifications We are seeking you who Are a specialist physician in anesthesia (anesthesiologist) or acute care medicine (emergency physician) Work as a specialist physician in one of the region's operations: Anesthesia/Operating Room/Intensive Care Unit or emergency departments Have good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written Have a B-class driver's license It is a merit if you Have teaching and/or mentoring experience Have completed a doctorate with active research in a relevant field Have work experience in prehospital acute care To succeed in the role, we believe you have these personal qualities Self-directed Collaborative Loyal Development-oriented Region Västernorrland With approximately 7,000 employees and over 200 professions, Region Västernorrland is responsible for several operations that are crucial for residents' ability to participate in society.
