The Faculty of Technology and Health Sciences conducts education and research in technology, health, and information design with a clear focus on societal challenges. Our research is conducted in close collaboration with external partners, nationally and internationally, and contributes to knowledge development and innovation. Through our collaboration platforms, we bring together academia, the public sector, and business to jointly drive knowledge development and strengthen the relevance of research and education. Education at all levels is research-connected and clearly linked to society's and the labor market's needs. Together, we contribute to sustainable societal development. The faculty has three institutions with a combined workforce of approximately 500 people. At the Department of Health Science, Innovation and Design, education is conducted related to various professions within healthcare and health. Additionally, education is offered in public health, innovation and information design. Within the department, strong and applied research is conducted that addresses problems of societal importance. Research and education are developed in collaboration with the public sector, business, and civil society to provide students with current knowledge for their future professional lives. The Societal Contract The Societal Contract is a partnership between Mälardalen University, Västerås City, and Eskilstuna Municipality where we explore and address complex societal challenges together with other societal actors. Employment Information Employment type: Fixed-term employment Employment period/start date: approximately 3 months Scope: 20% Number of positions: 2 Application deadline: 2026-09-25 Work location: Västerås Department/unit: Health Science, Innovation and Design Job Duties We are looking for you to work, under supervision, to help compile and visualize material and lessons learned from the Societal Contract's 'Dream Factory' in Skultuna. There is substantial material that has been developed in the form of reports, interviews, surveys, and dialogues. In your work, you will help make parts of this material more understandable and visual. You will work together with another research assistant and in collaboration with colleagues within the Societal Contract. Your job duties: Review and sort existing material Help compile important sections Participate in meetings and dialogues as needed Develop proposals for simple visualizations Process and develop visualizations together with your supervisor Present and discuss your work within the working group Qualifications/Requirements Only those admitted to basic or advanced level education at MDU can be employed as a research assistant. Employment as a research assistant is regulated in the Higher Education Ordinance chapter 5 sections 8-12. We would like you to be a student in information design or another education relevant to the assignment. We are looking for someone who enjoys working visually and is interested in learning more during the course of the assignment and who has very good knowledge of Swedish. Experience with project work, communicating complex issues to different target groups, and experience with visualization, information design, or concept development are merits for employment. Furthermore, experience with analysis and compilation of qualitative and/or quantitative material, experience with workshops, dialogue work, or work in collaboration processes is desirable. In an overall assessment of suitability, personal qualities are also weighted.
