We are looking for a trustworthy, responsible, and present personal assistant for an active and cheerful 11-year-old girl. The girl loves animals, especially horses. She rides in her free time and enjoys spending time at the stable. She also likes to play, have fun, and dance. On weekends, the family sometimes travels to their summer house in Roslagen, which is about two hours' drive from Stockholm. The girl has difficult-to-treat epilepsy and mild intellectual disability. This means she needs active supervision and requires someone by her side at all times. As an assistant, you need to be able to read situations, be attentive to potential risks, and stay one step ahead to adapt her environment to prevent potential dangers during a seizure. The girl can usually express her needs herself and is clear about what she feels; she appreciates picture support as a complement to speech. Play is the way to capture her interest and motivation. As an assistant, you need to feel comfortable playing and having fun. What we're looking for in you: We are looking for someone who is confident and can handle stressful situations and act quickly. You need to be focused, attentive, and have good reaction skills. We also see that you are comfortable in a stable environment with horses and, if needed, can keep up when the girl rides. The work takes place partly in the family's home, which requires attentiveness, respect, and the ability to adapt to others' routines and needs. You need to be professional while being a natural part of everyday life. The girl is a cheerful and energetic girl who loves to dance, play, and play games. She has a lot of imagination and enjoys moving between different activities during the day. We see that you understand the girl's functional variations. The family always strives for the child to live as much like other children as possible, so it is important that you as an assistant share this goal. Things to consider: The girl has mild intellectual disability and epilepsy, which means: Daily seizures (often brief but unpredictable) Need for constant presence and attention You need to be able to act quickly and calmly to prevent falls and injuries - During a seizure, the girl can fall quickly and without warning. Examples of typical work tasks: Personal hygiene and care Be present and adapt the environment so the customer doesn't injure herself if she has an epileptic seizure Do activities if the customer wishes, such as going to the stable and riding but also stable care like cleaning pastures, taking a commuter train trip, or baking Play board games Your work tasks may also include accompanying her to school and participating in daily activities at home. We are seeking a thoughtful, stable, and engaged personal assistant for a young man who lives with his family in Sollentuna. About the Work As a personal assistant, you will help with daily activities, personal hygiene, mobility, and tube feeding. You will also actively support communication and help him maintain connections and interactions with family, friends, schoolmates, and others in his surroundings. The assistant's role is very important for him to be understood, participate in conversations, and engage in social activities. Therefore, the work requires you to be present, attentive, and able to provide support without taking over. With safe and proactive support, he usually does well.
