In this role, it is important that you can handle stressful situations, especially when unexpected events occur. You will be her voice in her surroundings and therefore need to be confident, patient, and attentive. About the Position Personal assistance is a service provided under LSS (Act on Support and Services for Persons with Certain Disabilities). As a personal assistant, you will primarily help the client with everything that comes up in daily life and with basic needs. Your work involves respecting the client's autonomy and integrity, and helps ensure that everyday life runs smoothly. Each assistantship is uniquely tailored based on the client's life, so work tasks may vary depending on the workplace. The client is a 62-year-old woman living on Lidingö. She has Parkinson's disease, which affects her motor control and speech. The client can walk on her own but has balance impairment, which means there is a fall risk and she needs physical support when moving. The home also has a manual lift that is used as needed. Work tasks include personal care, household chores, and support with activities. It is always the client herself who decides what she wants to do, and during the summer months she particularly enjoys taking walks or going out for coffee. Who Are You? The role of personal assistant demands a strong ability to build good relationships. We are looking for someone who is calm, patient, and attentive. Since the client's speech can sometimes be unclear, it is crucial that you can listen actively, remain calm internally, and give her the time she needs to respond. You also need the ability to read her and sense when she is too tired to talk. It is also important that you are engaged, can take your own initiative, and see what needs to be done in the home. To thrive in the role, it is important that there is good personal chemistry between you and the client. For this position, you must have: Experience with Parkinson's disease Good knowledge of Swedish Good physical condition to be able to support the client when moving Be completely fragrance-free during work hours (no perfumes or strong scents are allowed due to allergy/sensitivity) For this position, it is a plus if you: Speak Arabic Have experience with similar work as a personal assistant Share the client's interests in walks and coffee Great weight will be placed on personal suitability. Working Hours, Employment Level, and Salary We are looking for personal assistants who can either work hourly or according to the schedule below. Week 1: Saturday and Sunday 10:30–18:00 Week 2: Week 3: Monday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday 10:30–18:00 Week 4: Saturday and Sunday 14:00–21:00 Fixed hourly wage by agreement and other compensation according to collective agreement.
