Personal Assistant for a Wheelchair User - Bollebygd We are now seeking a dedicated and thoughtful personal assistant for a man in a wheelchair. As an assistant, you will be an important part of the customer's daily life and provide support in various areas. In this role, you will assist the customer with personal hygiene, meals, other daily activities, and help answer the phone and manage communication with external parties. The customer is active and enjoys going to the cinema, theater, and taking outings. You will be the customer's extended arms and legs, and your presence will make a real difference in his life. The customer has his own car that the assistant drives for activities, so a valid driver's license is a requirement for the position. Experience/Qualifications: Previous experience working as a personal assistant or in healthcare is desirable but not required. Ability to communicate clearly and respectfully. Empathetic and patient, with the ability to listen and be supportive. Ability to be flexible and adapt to the customer's needs and wishes. Capable of handling lifts. Personal Qualities: We are looking for someone who is empathetic, attentive, and has the ability to create a safe and trusting relationship with the customer. You are thorough and reliable, with the ability to work independently and take initiative when needed. It is important that you are compliant and respectful of the customer's privacy and wishes. You have no problems with your shoulders or back as some heavy lifting occurs in the work. A valid driver's license and a car are required as it is not possible to reach the customer by public transportation. In this role, you function as the client's "hands and feet," helping with daily tasks that the client cannot perform independently. The work tasks are varied and include everything from regular household chores and assistance with personal hygiene to physical transfers to and from a wheelchair. Since animals are a central part of the client's life, the role also includes working in the stable with horses and walking medium-sized dogs on a morning and afternoon walk every day—regardless of weather.
