A man in his 60s living with Huntington's disease who lives together with his wife. The disease affects motor function and speech, but his interest in life and sports remains as strong as ever. We are now seeking engaged assistants who want to support him in his daily life and who would enjoy sharing his interests. Your responsibilities: - Personal care, assisting with hygiene, dressing, and daily routines with great respect for personal privacy - Tube feeding, handling and providing nutrition via PEG/feeding tube; experience is a merit but training will be provided on-site - Exercise and activity, helping with and motivating daily training and movement exercises to maintain function - Share interests, watch/attend sports events We are looking for someone who is confident, patient, flexible, attentive, and has a natural ability to sense when to take space and when to step back; good listening skills and ability to interpret signals; takes initiative but respects autonomy. Since the work takes place in the man's and his wife's shared home, it is of utmost importance that you respect their private space and cooperate well with his wife. You have: - an interest in sports - previous experience with Huntington's or another neurological condition is a merit - good physical condition as the work includes assisted exercise - very good Swedish in both speech and writing to ensure safe communication and documentation - a strong interest in your work and in seeking information/learning about the diagnosis Initially part-time positions with daytime hours and every other weekend, which will be expanded over time. The client lives in his own apartment in Trelleborg and needs support with daily activities. Work tasks include, among other things, assistance with: Mobility transfers (using a lift) Personal hygiene Household chores Participating in leisure activities Outings The client has his own car, so it is a requirement that you have a driver's license (automatic transmission) and are comfortable driving. Work Schedule You will work according to a rotating schedule that includes day shifts, evening shifts, weekend shifts, and on-call sleep shifts. Who are we looking for? We are looking for a woman between 25–55 years old, non-smoker, with a calm, responsible, and positive attitude. It is an asset if you have previous experience working in healthcare and social services, but it is not a requirement. We are looking for someone who is cheerful and solution-focused, with an interest in games, TV, and outings. Good communication skills are important as the client appreciates calm and clear speech. The client participates in daily activities a few days a week, and as an assistant you will accompany him. We are also seeking substitute assistants who can step in when regular assistants are sick or on leave.
