We are now seeking a personal assistant for a 33-year-old man with Down syndrome and autistic traits. We believe you will thrive in this role if you enjoy taking walks and are interested in fitness. We also believe you are calm, kind, proactive, self-directed, and responsible. Furthermore, it is beneficial if you are flexible in your work and how your days will look, and if you are a problem-solver who sees opportunities. It is a requirement that you can communicate in Swedish and that you like dogs and cats, as there are pets in the home. Previous experience and training in low-arousal approach is a merit, as is sign language communication. As a personal assistant, you will provide support where the disability creates limitations, which includes personal hygiene, dressing and undressing, accompanying to the swimming pool/gym, and planning other fun activities together. Work shifts will vary and are scheduled around the clock. It is important that you are flexible and sometimes willing to come in on short notice. As a personal assistant, you help create safety, inclusion, and a functioning daily life for another person. Tasks vary depending on the client's needs and can include personal care, household chores, activities, communication, and daily support. We are looking for someone who is engaged, flexible, attentive, and responsible. You enjoy working with people and collaborate well with others. You need to be able to adapt to different clients' needs and be comfortable working both independently and as part of a team. We would like to see that you: Have experience in personal assistance, care, or similar fields. Speak and write Swedish well. Are flexible and can step in when needed. Can work days, evenings, weekends, and/or nights. Have a driver's license. Are reliable, trustworthy, and respectful in your interactions. Experience is a plus, but personal suitability is important to us. For some assignments, special experience or knowledge may be required, such as autism support, tube feeding, lifting, or other care procedures.
