The role involves daily care and practical support in the home environment and leisure activities as well as participation via FIFH. The client can manage short movements indoors with a walker but needs help with other transfers. Communication with the client is age-appropriate — he expresses himself like his peers and appreciates being treated as a young person, but not childishly. He is determined and often knows what he wants; therefore it is crucial to ask him how he would like things done and to respect his choices. The work requires a respectful approach, clarity, patience and the ability to follow instructions regarding transfer assistance. You work closely with the family.
