Nurse for Rheumatology Clinic Infusion Treatment in Lund
Make a difference. Every day. Are you looking for your next challenge as a nurse and want to be part of developing new working methods that combine service at both outpatient clinics and inpatient wards? Then this position might be for you! We offer stimulating and meaningful work where you, together with skilled colleagues, develop new ways of working and, with commitment and continuous improvement, build our success. The Business Area (VO) for Endocrinology, Nephrology, and Rheumatology (ENR), which is part of Skåne University Hospital (Sus), includes the Rheumatology Clinic Infusion Treatment in Lund, which is part of the Rheumatology Unit, as well as the Nephrology, Rheumatology, and Dermatology Ward in Lund (NRH). Both operations provide both regional healthcare and highly specialized care for their patient groups. The Rheumatology Unit has outpatient services distributed in Lund and Malmö. Our patients come here for doctor visits, nurse consultations, infusions, rehabilitation visits, and supplementary examinations with nursing assistants. As a nurse, you are a key person for these patients. Since modern rheumatological treatment has significantly improved patient prognosis in recent years, many patients are now managed through the rheumatologist's outpatient services. Development is constantly ongoing with medical treatment and rehabilitation measures. Internal and external training in rheumatology is offered regularly. The Nephrology, Rheumatology, and Dermatology Ward in Lund (NRH) operates around the clock with 18 beds, where two teams (12 patients) focus on nephrology care and one team (6 patients) focus on a combination of rheumatology and dermatology care. The ward operates according to the Magnet Model. The model identifies nursing care as one of the main processes in healthcare and places primary focus on achieving excellent nursing outcomes through evidence-based practice, innovation, development of technology, and partnership with the patient. At both the clinic and the ward, we work interprofessionally and in teams with the patient at the center. We view this as a prerequisite for offering high-quality care. At both facilities, there is strong cohesion within the teams and good collaboration between professions, where communication and cooperation are very important to us. 1 position(s). WORK TASKS We are looking for a new colleague for our infusion services! The position is primarily based at the Rheumatology Clinic Infusion Treatment (daytime) but also includes service on the NRH ward with 2 weekend shifts per 5 weeks. At the rheumatology clinic's infusion unit, intravenous biological treatments, intravenous immunoglobulin, and cytostatic medications are administered. In your role as a nurse, you are an important part of administering treatments and providing support to our patients during their visits. Our treatments provide patients with improved quality of life, making the infusion unit a central part of our operations. As a new employee, you will receive an individually tailored introduction based on your previous experience. Work as a nurse at the NRH ward includes standard nursing tasks. Some of the kidney patients use a dialysis method called Peritoneal Dialysis or PD, which is handled by our nursing assistants after they have completed training. However, as a nurse, you must also be familiar with this treatment method and will therefore be offered training. During weekday daytime hours, a team consists of one nurse and one nursing assistant, plus additional resources in the form of two nursing assistants and sometimes another nurse. During evenings and weekends, the ward is staffed with one nurse and one nursing assistant per team, plus one nursing assistant as additional resource. At night, the ward is staffed by two nurses and three nursing assistants. To support the nurses, we have a nursing assistant who is daily responsible for reception and handles ward telephone, transport orders, booking examinations, and more. Additionally, we have a pharmacist who handles most medication-related matters. QUALIFICATIONS We welcome you as a licensed nurse with authorization to practice within Swedish healthcare. The position requires Swedish language skills at a level of at least C1 according to the Council of Europe's scale. It is an advantage if you have several years of professional experience as a nurse and experience working with Melior, Pasis, or 1177 Vårdguiden. Additionally, it is meritorious to have previous experience working in inpatient care, and particularly experience within rheumatology and/or one of the specialties at the ward. You are secure in both person and profession and can bring yourself to the table. Furthermore, you enjoy working both independently and in teams. You have the ability to quickly adapt and adjust to prevailing circumstances. We expect you to contribute to our good work environment through inspiration, curiosity, and the ability to continuously see opportunities.
