Regional Director for Great Lakes, Life & Peace Institute
The Life & Peace Institute intends to have the position of Director of Great Lakes based in its Uppsala, Sweden office. The Great Lakes Regional Director (GL-RD) is responsible for leadership and overall management of the LPI programme and operations in the Great Lakes, for the achievement of the programme's expected results with the available resources, established plan and deadlines. The GL-RD leads the GL team's effort, together with LPI's key strategic partners, to attain policy objectives that improve the lives of conflict-affected populations in the Great Lakes. We are seeking candidates that have a very strong understanding of the Great Lakes Region and strong experience in peacebuilding and conflict transformation. Other qualifications include: knowledge of French and English, knowledge of and experience working with European donors, 15-20 years' experience in peacebuilding in the Great Lakes region. Experience in managing complex programmes and diverse teams. Experience engaging a range of community and government stakeholders at different levels.
