Disability and Social Psychiatry is one of three departments within the Social Care Administration. The department is responsible for LSS residences, day activities, residential support, short-term stays, and personal assistance. We are approximately 250 employees who work with great commitment with the individual's needs at the center and based on a belief in the individual's own abilities. We work goal-oriented to ensure that our operations maintain high competence and quality. Within the department, we work toward collaboration between workplaces and competency development for our employees. JOB DUTIES In the role of support assistant, you will provide support and assistance to persons with mental health disabilities, a responsibility the municipality has to ensure appropriate support for this target group. Your work is guiding, supportive, and motivating, where you help users manage their difficulties and develop their abilities in everyday life. You will meet users with mental health disabilities, as well as persons with complex needs and/or comorbidities. Many of the persons you come into contact with may experience emotional imbalance, and there are also encounters with users who may display anxiety, self-harm behavior, and/or other self-destructive actions. To provide the best possible support, you will work from a clear methodological foundation and employ an effective approach. The operation has a strong focus on clarifying pedagogy and applies low-arousal approaches to create a safe and respectful environment. Your mission is to contribute to increased understanding and provide practical help through a structured and adapted work method for each individual's needs. You will collaborate with various professional disciplines and will also work closely with family members. The purpose of this collaboration is to plan and implement well-adapted interventions. (mogard.se) About the Residence Bolmörtsgränd in Ystad is centrally located and is a children's and youth residential facility under LSS § 9:8. The residence has five places and is aimed at children and young people aged 13-18 years who, for various reasons, need a residence outside their parental home. Young people also have the opportunity to remain in the facility after turning 18 to complete ongoing schooling in the area. The residence has specific expertise in the area of communication and is aimed at children and young people with combined functional disabilities. The residences have a home-like environment and operations are conducted year-round with the aim of being a safe complement to the parental home. What Does a Night Look Like? As a re-/rehabilitation assistant at Mo Gård LSS, your main task is to support the individual during the evening and night, with work hours from 21:00-08:00, and weekend work is also part of the role. You will also assist with daily tasks such as intimate hygiene, corrections or repositioning, medication when needed, documentation, and cleaning. We communicate using sign language, which we offer in-house training in. When you work with us, you will undergo multiple trainings to ensure communication. Of course, our night teams have recurring team meetings and are covered by the same training package as our day teams. About You As a person, you are considerate and value other people's well-being. You genuinely care about and want to understand other people's feelings and needs. You see possibilities in changes and find solutions when situations shift. You are relationship-building, create trust, and build good collaboration with both individuals and colleagues. We believe you are reliable, persistent, while also being secure in yourself and having good self-awareness. If you have experience working with people in care and health services and/or have knowledge about people with disabilities, that's great, though not a requirement. However, we do see that you have a high school diploma as a foundation. To succeed in the role, your interest in people and your commitment are very important. Employment We offer a permanent position at 100 percent with monthly salary by agreement and based on individual salary setting. We apply a 6-month probationary period and start date is by agreement.
