In the team, you work as a nurse together with a doctor, assistant nurse, ward administrator/medical secretary, physiotherapist, and occupational therapist with the patient at the center. In primary care, we are the hub of the patient's care and we work with a focus on continuity; therefore, care coordination and fixed care contacts are central. The tasks included in the work as a clinic nurse include, among other things, advice, digital and by phone, coordination and booking, emergency clinic services, and clinic visits. During scheduled clinic hours, you handle things such as wound dressing changes, care of central catheters, central access devices and stomas, as well as medication administration. You also have open clinic hours where you meet and assess patients with newly occurring complaints. As a nurse in primary care, you are also responsible for annual check-ups and follow-up of patients with our most common diagnoses. All nurses have follow-up visits for hypertension, and you will also have the opportunity to specialize in, for example, diabetes, asthma/COPD, heart failure, or anticoagulation. As an ST physician, you are part of the team with your own listed patients.
