Jēkabpils novada Sociālais dienests (registration number 40900038152) announces a competition for the position of Social Worker in the Family and Child Services Sector of the Social Work and Social Services Department - for a fixed-term position Work location: Jaunā iela 39I, Jēkabpils, Jēkabpils novads, LV-5201 Main job responsibilities: • identify social problems and determine client needs, • develop intervention plans jointly with clients in accordance with identified social problems with the aim of improving or developing the client's social skills, motivating them for change, concluding cooperation agreements and managing the implementation of tasks provided therein, • ensure necessary specialist services for clients, promote client participation in addressing social problems, cooperating with employees of the Service and other state and local government institutions, • organize the engagement of social resources to address social problems of specific individuals, social groups, communities or society, • provide psychosocial support, • use appropriate methods for working with clients individually or in groups, or working with families to identify social problems and determine appropriate social service options, • maintain client files, compiling information about the client, their family status, social situation, material circumstances, etc., • prepare reports to the Guardianship Court and other state and local government institutions upon request, when necessary, participate in Jēkabpils novada Guardianship Court sessions on matters of care and guardianship rights, and represent client interests in other state institutions and local government entities in accordance with authorization and competence, • analyze the causes of social problems, provide recommendations for addressing social problems. Requirements for job candidates: • first-cycle higher education (previously - second-level professional higher or academic education) in social work or charitable social work, • desirable work experience in the field of social work, • understanding of regulatory framework in the social sector, • good communication and motivation skills, empathy, listening skills, • ability to independently perform job duties and make decisions within their competence, • ability to work in a team and promote cooperation, • ability to work in dynamic and changing work conditions, • excellent knowledge of the state language, • good skills in working with computers and office equipment, • desirable category B driver's license.
