About the Swedish Prison and Probation Service The Swedish Prison and Probation Service is growing – we are building new facilities, renovating, and expanding, and we are now seeking more employees. Adult education within the Swedish Prison and Probation Service is equivalent to Komvux (Municipal Adult Education). Adult education is nationally coordinated and organized so that studies function regardless of which facility a student attends and even if they are transferred during their studies. We are now seeking a vocational instructor with qualifications in vocational subjects in industrial technology with a focus on CNC and cutting operations at Learning Center Anstalten Tidaholm. Job Description You will teach a limited number of students in your subjects according to current course and subject plans, both locally at Anstalten Tidaholm and remotely to other prisons via phone and learning platform. In addition to this, you will also mentor students in other school subjects. Practical training (APL) is conducted in the prison's own production facility, which also has designated APL supervisors with whom you maintain regular contact. This means you do not need to be responsible for arranging APL placements. Your work also involves collaborating and maintaining continuous contact with teachers and other professionals throughout the country in your role. All work is performed in the Swedish Prison and Probation Service's facilities. If you lack teacher certification, we offer you the opportunity for further education; however, for employment you must be eligible for admission to vocational instructor training. Qualifications In your role as an instructor, you are a skilled educator with the will and ability to motivate, inspire, and guide students to reach their goals. You are clear and engaged in your work and have a strong ability to create structure and systematic approaches. The work is conducted both independently and in close collaboration with colleagues, so good collaboration and initiative skills are important qualities, as is your ability to work independently. We are seeking you who have: - Basic eligibility for vocational instructor training - Special qualifications in the form of specialized vocational knowledge in one or more vocational subjects - Relevant vocational knowledge within the current teaching area - Ability to express yourself well in speech and writing in Swedish - Good computer skills and experience working with digital support systems It is also meriting to have: - Teacher certification or ongoing vocational instructor training - Experience teaching in adult education/Komvux - Experience with distance education Please attach your teacher certification with qualifications list in your application.
