Reliable assistant needed for football-loving man in Borås Would you like meaningful and varied work where you make a real difference in someone else's daily life? We are now seeking a reliable, engaged and responsible personal assistant for a 35-year-old man who lives in his own apartment in Borås. This is a job for you if you enjoy being active, feel comfortable taking responsibility and can create a sense of security even in situations that can sometimes be challenging. You will become an important part of the customer's everyday life and help him live as independently, actively and fulfilling a life as possible. The customer uses a wheelchair and has a hearing impairment, which means he needs support and help with most things in his daily life. Since the customer is not verbally communicative, there are high demands on you as an assistant to read gestures/signs, body language, sounds and at the same time be able to interpret and conduct conversations on the customer's behalf in various situations. About the customer The customer is a 35-year-old man who lives in central Borås. He has a great interest in sports and especially loves attending Elfsborg football matches, watching hockey and basketball. On weekdays he attends daily activities, where you as a personal assistant will accompany him and provide support during the day. One day a week he also attends Särvux. In his free time he enjoys among other things: Playing board games Following football, hockey and basketball Taking walks and getting out Playing bowling Meeting and socializing with friends Participating in various activities and outings As an assistant you therefore need to appreciate work where days can look different. One day might be more routine-based while the next involves activities, social settings or other things happening outside the home. Who we are looking for Who are we looking for? We are looking for someone who is confident in themselves and has great patience and ability to read the customer, stay one step ahead and find solutions, while keeping calm. You need to be able to work independently, take own initiatives, and be responsive to the customer's needs and wishes. The work can sometimes be challenging and therefore requires patience, flexibility and a stable approach. Experience from for example school as a resource person, care, educational work, association activities or as a group leader is also valuable. Great weight will be placed on personal suitability and that the personal chemistry between you and the customer works well. Language Since the customer is not verbally communicative, we see it as valuable if you have experience with alternative communication or have studied sign language. A requirement is that you master Swedish fluently in both speech and writing, as the work involves extensive communication and documentation, and it is extremely important that the customer understands you and to minimize misunderstandings between you. Duties As a personal assistant you help the customer with what he needs to make his everyday life work. The duties may include: Personal hygiene and care Dressing and undressing Support with meals Transfers and other practical tasks Support and help at home Support at daily activities and Särvux Accompanying on leisure activities, walks and social activities Encouraging and creating opportunities for an active and fulfilling everyday life Reading and interpreting signs/gestures and conducting conversations on the customer's behalf in social settings Documentation and communication with colleagues and management You primarily work alone with the customer. However, two staff members are present during certain parts of the day and in connection with certain activities. It is important that you can both take responsibility when working alone and cooperate well with other assistants when you work together. Working hours and employment level The position starts as a temporary position as needed, with the possibility of a more extensive and permanent position later. Working hours can be arranged at different times of the day and can include both weekdays and weekends. Since the customer has activities and daily programs on weekdays you need to be flexible regarding working hours.
