About the Job We are growing and looking for more committed colleagues who want to make a real difference for children who need safe and competent adults around them. We are now seeking treatment assistants for our residential care home for boys ages 11–14. We are looking for someone with the right formal education, a professional approach, and a strong desire to contribute to safety, development, and hope for the future for children in difficult life situations. Insikten has been operating since 1996 and is headquartered in Sala. Within the group, we operate residential care homes, supported housing, and foster care services. Together, we are over 60 employees who work every day to give children and young people better opportunities in life. Our driving force is simple but important – every child should have the opportunity to feel safe, seen, understood, and receive support to develop based on their individual circumstances. About the Operations Our residential care home houses boys ages 11–14 who, for various reasons, cannot remain in their ordinary home environment. The children have different needs and difficulties, and many have neurodevelopmental disorders, school-related challenges, and difficulties with emotional regulation, social interaction, and behavior. They need adults who are stable, clear, and predictable – even when situations become challenging. Our work is built on creating a safe and secure environment where children have the opportunity to develop at their own pace. We work in a structured and evidence-based manner and have an employed psychologist who participates in care and provides supervision to the staff teams. For us, competence, approach, and quality in daily work are essential. About the Role As a treatment assistant, you have a very important role in the children's everyday lives. You are close to the children and contribute through your way of acting, communicating, and engaging to create safety, structure, and stability. The work involves both building relationships and being the calm and secure adult when a child is experiencing strong emotions, frustration, or a difficult situation. You work together with colleagues in a team and are expected to follow shared work methods, treatment plans, routines, and decisions. The work requires good judgment, responsibility, and the ability to distinguish between professional engagement and personal relationships. The work includes, among other things: creating and maintaining a safe, secure, and predictable environment building professional and trustful relationships with the children understanding and addressing individual needs, behaviors, and difficulties working from individualized behavior support and implementation plans preventing and managing conflicts and challenging situations in a calm and professional manner supporting children in school, leisure activities, social relationships, and daily activities documenting and following up on children's development following the operations' routines, methods, and safety practices working closely with colleagues and other professionals involved with the child contributing to a safe, respectful, and professional work environment. Qualifications – Formal Education is Required The position requires at least two years of post-secondary education with relevant focus on social work, pedagogy, behavior, or treatment. Examples of relevant educations include: social worker social pedagogue support pedagogue behavior analyst treatment pedagogue or other post-secondary education that the employer deems relevant and equivalent. We place great importance on your education providing you with a professional foundation to understand and work with children and young people with complex needs. Meritorious Experience It is an advantage if you have: experience working in residential care homes or similar operations experience working with children and young people with neurodevelopmental disorders knowledge of ABA – Applied Behavior Analysis knowledge of PBS – Positive Behavior Support experience with trauma-informed care experience with low-affect communication experience working with children with school-related problems or challenging behaviors. Who Are You? Above all, we are looking for someone who is secure in themselves and understands the responsibility that comes with working with children in vulnerable and sometimes very difficult situations. You need to be able to combine warmth and commitment with clarity, structure, and professional boundaries. You are calm and stress-resistant and have the ability to maintain good judgment even when situations change rapidly or become emotionally demanding. You don't take a child's frustration or behavior personally but try to understand what lies behind it and act based on the child's needs.
