About the Workplace
The Department of Education Science conducts educational research with various specializations in both school and higher education. The Department is the central hub of the network that comprises the subject teacher program at Lund University and is responsible for teaching the educational science core courses (UVK) in the subject teacher program, the supplementary pedagogical education (KPU) for prospective subject teachers, and the coordination of practice-based education (VFU).

Duties and Responsibilities
Teaching at an advanced level in the subject teacher program's educational science core courses (UVK) with a particular focus on scientific methodology within education science.
Teaching at an advanced level in supplementary pedagogical education (KPU) with a particular focus on teaching and school development, as well as scientific methodology within education science.
Study administrative tasks/assignments may be included.
Qualifications for Employment:
Completed degree at an advanced level or acquired equivalent knowledge by other means, and possesses competence relevant to the position's focus and associated duties,
has teaching experience and verified pedagogical skill,
has completed higher education pedagogy training of at least five weeks or acquired equivalent knowledge by other means.
Basis for Assessment:
Solid knowledge relevant to the position's content and associated duties.
Strong pedagogical ability, meaning the ability to conduct and develop teaching and other pedagogical activities at various levels with varying teaching methods.
Professional experience relevant to the position.
Particularly Meritorious for Employment:
Good familiarity with the Swedish school system.
Research training, primarily within the field of education science with relevance to subject teachers/subject teacher programs, secondarily within another field with relevance to subject teachers/subject teacher programs.
Experience teaching in the subject teacher program's educational science core courses (UVK).
Experience teaching and development work in schools.
Strong knowledge of scientific methodology, particularly within education science.
Other Information
The position is a 65% substitute appointment for the period 2026-10-15 – 2026-12-15.

The Department of Education Science is the central hub of the extensive network that comprises the subject teacher program at Lund University and is responsible for teaching the educational science core courses (UVK) in the subject teacher program, the supplementary pedagogical education (KPU) for prospective subject teachers, the coordination of practice-based education (VFU), as well as study administration, academic advising, and work with information for teacher students. The Department also houses the Division for Higher Education Pedagogical Development (AHU), which conducts courses for Lund University's teachers, higher education pedagogical development activities, and research on higher education.
