IFO Adult Unit The Adult Group in our Individual and Family Services (IFO) department consists of three social workers handling economic assistance, one social worker managing substance abuse/other adult issues, and one position working with the new activity requirement reform. One of our social workers will now be on parental leave, which is why we are seeking a substitute social worker for economic assistance. The substitute position is for a minimum of one year, starting October 1, 2026, and interviews will be conducted on a rolling basis. Work Tasks As a social worker in economic assistance, your main responsibilities will be to investigate and assess eligibility for assistance under the Social Services Act, and to work actively with the individual to achieve changes in their life situation leading to self-sufficiency. We view the handling of economic assistance as qualified social change work aimed at strengthening the individual's ability to live an independent life. The role also includes assessing individuals' ability to participate in activities under the new activity requirement reform. As a social worker, you will also maintain regular contact with applicants assigned to your position. We work for close collaboration with the municipality's Employment and Integration Unit (AMI). The work involves extensive contact and cooperation with other parties and authorities. Therefore, good knowledge of how society functions is essential. Other tasks may also occur. The content and conditions of the work may change over time. Qualifications Requirements Sociology degree or other academic education that the employer considers equivalent. You are well versed in the handling requirements and legislation governing the activity. Training in MI, FREDA, and solution-focused working methods. Ability to express yourself well in Swedish, both verbally and in writing. Computer proficiency. Driver's license. Meritorious Experience with authority work in economic assistance is desirable. Experience with the LifeCare case management system is a plus. Personal Qualities To thrive in the role of social worker, we believe you have strong commitment and an interest in social work.
