Your Workplace Environmental and health protection is part of the community development sector, which in addition to us includes the activities of development and operational support, traffic, planning and development, and building permits, mapping and GIS. The sector consists of approximately 80 people, which means that communication channels are short and facilitate collaboration between activities. We are seeking a substitute for one of our environmental health inspectors during her parental leave. The position is placed within the environmental and health protection activity, where we have a total of 16 employees. Your Assignment As an environmental health inspector, you will mainly work with permitting and supervision within the health protection area, with supervisory tasks within the environmental code areas. More specifically, this concerns permitting and supervision within the health protection team of various types of health protection facilities and events, as well as complaints to handle. Permitting and supervision within the coastal protection area are also part of your work duties. Your work tasks include planning, conducting and following up inspections, as well as handling application and notification matters. The work involves extensive contact with both business operators and private individuals. We have far-reaching delegation from the environmental and building permits board. The small organization requires flexibility, which means that work tasks may change over time. Our goal is to work more preventatively through, among other things, planned supervision. This is to avoid problems arising later and to reduce the number of incoming complaints. What is Required for This Position We are looking for someone who has education to work as an environmental and health protection inspector or has other appropriate training for the profession. It is meritorious to have experience and competence in working with permitting and supervision according to the environmental code.
