The Swedish Prison and Probation Service (Statens institutionsstyrelse, SiS) is a government agency responsible for individualized compulsory care for youth and adults with substance abuse issues. We operate youth detention centers and residential facilities for adults with substance abuse problems throughout the country. At SiS, your work life will be an exciting challenge. Regardless of where in our organization you work or what position you hold, you help create vital change.
SiS Youth Detention Center Fagared serves non-compulsory schooling boys with psychosocial problems, criminal behavior, and substance abuse. We have departments in Lindome, Öxnevalla, and Gothenburg. Job Description:
Do you want to help create vital change for vulnerable people? Then the position of treatment assistant at SiS is a meaningful challenge. At SiS Youth Detention Center Fagared, we are seeking a substitute treatment assistant for one of our departments in Lindome that implements closed youth detention.
At the Lindome departments, we work to implement closed youth detention for boys sentenced to a criminal sanction under the law on closed youth detention. The overarching goal of work in these departments is to reintegrate the sentenced youth back into society. In daily operations, this is based on individually tailored implementation planning. Much of the work involves motivational work with each of the youth placed in our care.
As a treatment assistant, you ensure that routines at the department function as they should. You play an important role in stability and security for our youth and clients, and you are responsible for the basics of daily life such as schooling, cleaning, meal preparation, and more. You contribute to maintaining security at the institution according to our routines. You work to build trusting relationships and help our youth and clients receive the security they need to break established patterns of behavior. Documentation is an important part of your work.
Together with your team of committed colleagues such as treatment educators and treatment coordinators, you have the opportunity to achieve good results and contribute to change. The job is often demanding but also stimulating, rewarding, and varied.
We work based on our core values: Respect, Care, and Clarity.
As a new substitute, you will complete our local introductory training.
