Welcome to Ward 2, our orthopedics and stroke care unit at Norrtälje Hospital. We are currently seeking nursing assistants who want to work as temporary staff covering for our colleagues during their studies. About the Position As a nursing assistant with us, you have an important role where you plan and perform daily patient care together with the rest of the team. Our team includes nursing assistants and nurses, a coordinating nursing assistant, rehabilitation staff, and physicians. We have the opportunity to offer three temporary positions, one of which covers 12 months and two that cover 6 months. All temporary positions involve a weekly working time of 37 hours. Work is scheduled for daytime and evening shifts, plus every other weekend. Your work tasks include: Daily patient care Mobilization Wound dressing changes Sample collection Capillary blood sampling Vital signs monitoring Documentation What We Offer: Individually designed orientation based on your competency and experience Internal training within the field We offer a wellness allowance of up to 5,000 kronor per year. The allowance amount is adjusted based on the length of employment and degree of employment. About You For this position, you need: To be a trained nursing assistant To have applied for a protected professional title Good or very good Swedish language skills in both speech and writing Good computer and system skills It is a merit if you also have: Focus on acute care nursing Professional experience in acute care nursing For this role, it is required that you are primarily self-directed and can take responsibility for your own work tasks. You have personal maturity and good empathetic abilities, qualities that we highly value on the unit. About Us On Ward 2, we work in multidisciplinary teams consisting of physicians, nurses, nursing assistants, occupational therapist, social worker, dietitian, speech-language pathologist, and physiotherapist. We also have a coordinating nursing assistant Monday-Friday who handles all incoming calls, transport requests, logistical planning of patient inflow and outflow, internal hospital contacts, and contacts with external facilities. Norrtälje Hospital is a smaller acute hospital characterized by a pleasant atmosphere and close collaboration between different professions as well as between different units. The unit has 24 hospital beds, which are distributed between 12-15 orthopedic beds and 8-12 stroke and neurological beds. We provide both acute and elective orthopedic surgical services.
