Hospitals in the West is an administration within Västra Götalandsregionen and consists of four hospitals – Alingsås lasarett, Angereds närsjukhus, Högsbo närsjukhus, and Kungälvs sjukhus. Approximately 3000 employees work with us every day to provide good and safe specialist healthcare of the highest quality. Hello! We are now looking for you to work together with us! We are the orthopedics and surgery department at Kungälvs sjukhus and you will find us in our beautiful facilities on floor 2. About Us Five years ago, we moved into one of Sweden's most modern care unit buildings. The department has 28 beds divided into four teams with seven patients on each team, where all patients have their own room including bathroom. The environment is fresh and easy to work in. The department focuses on broad orthopedic and surgical care, both acute and planned. We care for patients with acute conditions following trauma, accidents, and illness. Patients with infections and pain issues are also cared for in the department. Monday through Friday, one of our teams is dedicated to elective orthopedic patients who have received new shoulder, knee, or hip prostheses. Our goal is to continuously develop and improve our operations and to constantly strive to become even better when it comes to patient safety, patient satisfaction, and work environment. We value having a good work climate, a safe environment, and close collaboration during both good and challenging times. Your future colleagues are a wonderful group that is considerate toward patients, family members, and each other; together we make the department a place where everyone can thrive. Work Duties As a nurse with us, you will have the opportunity to work broadly within both orthopedics and surgery – and you will become an important part of our change and improvement efforts. You will have daily close collaboration with nursing assistants, physicians, paramedics, and medical secretaries. What Can We Offer? - Employment with the opportunity to work night/evening/day shifts as well as weekend shifts. - Mentor nurse - Competent and wonderful colleagues Our goal is for all new employees to begin their work in the best possible way, so you will receive an individually tailored introduction. In our department, we have a mentor nurse with extensive experience in the operations who will guide and support new employees through the introduction and who is also available after the introduction for follow-up and to provide support and advice. Who Are We Looking For? We are looking for you who are a registered nurse and who have an interest in working within acute care. It is a merit, but not a requirement, if you have experience in orthopedic or surgical care and are accustomed to taking responsibility and making independent decisions. You enjoy challenges, have the ability to make quick decisions, and you can handle acute situations in a calm and methodical manner. For you, good collaboration skills, joy in working as part of a team, and good conduct toward both patients and colleagues are a given. It is also important that you can work independently. Working in a care unit is teamwork, and we therefore place great emphasis on personal suitability. We hope that you will become our new colleague! Clinical Base Year If you are a newly graduated registered nurse, a Clinical Base Year is included during your first year of permanent employment. The Clinical Base Year includes lectures, process-oriented nursing guidance, and practical training of your profession at Simulatorcentrum. It also includes shadowing in other operations so you gain a broader understanding of the hospital where you work. This is an investment made to give you the opportunity to further develop yourself in your profession and build your professional identity.
