Together we create a better everyday life for our residents, businesses, organizations, and visitors, now and in the future. Leadership is important to us, which is why all managers receive training in developmental leadership. We offer you a secure employment where you make a meaningful contribution to society. You'll also find many career opportunities in an organization that is constantly evolving. We stand firmly on our values—Better Together—which are characterized by courage, trust, participation, and professionalism. Within the social care administration, approximately 1,200 engaged employees work to provide support and care to those in need in our municipality. The work takes place within elderly care, home services, disability services, and social psychiatry, as well as individual and family services. Disability Services and Social Psychiatry is one of three departments within the social care administration. The department is responsible for LSS housing, day activities, residential support, short-term stays, and personal assistance. We are about 250 employees who work with great commitment with the individual's needs at the center and based on a belief in the individual's own abilities. We work with clear goals to ensure our activities maintain high competence and quality. 4 position(s). DUTIES As a companion or contact person, you will support an individual in their daily life, help with certain practical tasks, and contribute to their social life. You will create a safe and positive relationship by being an attentive and considerate presence. The assignment is based on regular meetings with the person you support, for example once a week or month, depending on needs and agreement. This is not a traditional employment, but a meaningful assignment where you make a difference in someone's everyday life. Contact Person (Compensated assignment)—The role as contact person means that through your presence and commitment, you help counteract isolation and loneliness. You meet with the person who needs your help a certain number of times per month based on care decisions. Based on the person's needs, you together decide what you want to do while you're together. You can meet and go out, you can talk, bake, take walks, watch a movie, or do other activities. What's really important isn't the activities themselves but that you meet and spend time together. The idea behind the meetings is that the person you're a contact person for gets support in breaking their isolation and loneliness and also gets encouragement to participate in community activities. With your support, they can feel safe having fun with a friend and perhaps try new activities. Companion (Hourly employment)—As a companion, you regularly meet with a person with disabilities who needs support and encouragement to participate in meaningful and stimulating leisure activities. Through your commitment, you help the person get the opportunity to participate in activities and create social contacts. The assignment involves being a support in getting out, taking part in community life, and promoting participation on equal terms. For example, this could involve accompanying them to leisure, cultural, or sports activities, or supporting them in maintaining contact with friends and acquaintances. Your contribution as a companion is an important part of strengthening the individual's independence, participation, and quality of life. QUALIFICATIONS We're looking for someone who is attentive, relationship-oriented, and mindful in contact with other people. You have the ability to remain professional in your role and work with a focus on the individual's needs and interests. You should have a good ability to take initiative, as you take responsibility for planning and carrying out meetings and activities. It's important that you stay informed about what's happening in the city and what activities are offered to enable an enriching leisure and community life. Meritorious: • Previous experience as a companion and/or contact person • Work experience within LSS and/or SoL • B-class driver's license Beyond the above, we're also seeking people with an interest in anthropology or social commitment, as we have a particular need for this. A personal disability within NPF is not an obstacle, and we welcome people with different personalities. Our goal is to create the best possible match between the service user and companion based on interests and personal chemistry! Great weight is placed on personal suitability and conduct, and you should be prepared to work in your role for at least six months. Pay form: Hourly wage. Employment form: Fixed-term employment. Duration: 6 months or longer, start date: 2026-10-01 or by agreement. Employees are sought with the understanding that the position does not need to be filled by already employed personnel or individuals with priority rights. Before any possible employment, we will check citizenship. If you are not a citizen of Sweden, the EU, EEA, or Switzerland, you must be able to present a valid residence/work permit or demonstrate that you are exempt from the requirement to have a work permit. All employees should be offered conditions for good health, which is why we actively work on our work environment. We offer wellness benefits and smoke-free work time. In connection with this recruitment, we do not accept contact from recruitment firms and other advertisers. Please also note that we only accept applications via Visma Recruit and not via email or other contact methods. If you have questions about the position, please contact the specified contact person.
