JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
As a companion support worker, you will support a person with a disability to live like others and participate in community life and social activities. This includes supporting the individual to, for example, get to and from activities or to access cultural life. In your role as a relief support worker, you also provide support to the person at home in the form of, for example, transfers, activities related to personal hygiene, and support during mealtimes. The time and scope of assignments can vary and may range from a few hours to more extensive support. Schedule can be arranged on both weekdays, evenings, and weekends based on the individual's needs. You will work closely with the activity coordinator where together with the individual you develop implementation plans, action plans, and customize support based on the individual's needs.
These assignments are suitable for you if you want an extra social role alongside studies or other work.
QUALIFICATIONS
The work requires you to be attentive and engaged with the individual's needs. You should be able to work independently but also enjoy collaborating with others such as guardians, family members, or representatives. Important qualities for these assignments are that you have a professional approach, listen to the individual's wishes, and feel comfortable in situations requiring transfers and personal care. The focus of the assignment is to provide the person with support in transfers, personal care, and enable meaningful leisure time. A requirement for employment is that you have previous experience working with people with physical disabilities. We place great importance on personal suitability.
It is a merit if you have education in pedagogy, behavioral science, or care. Previous training and experience with lifts is desirable. We would be pleased if you have experience working with children or young people with disabilities.
For companion support and relief support services, hourly employment applies (PAN employment). The assignment comprises a total of 18h/month arranged during day/evening/weekend according to agreement with the individual.
Employment form: Fixed-term employment.
